The "head" is male design for attaching to the bong, the bong is "female" socket for the head to attach into, the problem with this bong is in that the male part is too small and rattles in the female part so for instance if you move the bong at all the head will swivel with the motion, kinda dangerous if you are caught unaware and it catches your hand at that temperature
