The cloth covered buttons and brocade fabric give these a more formal upscale look. Substantial lining makes them durable and functional. They look great! Bought these for a roaring 20's event - they really looked terrific, and perfectly matched a vest I bought on Amazon from a different seller. Very well made and stayed in place all night!

Well made, good looking spats. I use them for LARP and put them over a pair of Easy Spirit leather tennis shoes so that I can walk around on site with slightly less modern looking shoes that keep me from hurting my poor foot bones. The elastic has held up well so far (two three-day events so far) and I have gotten lots of compliments on them.

Of all the idiotic things I added to my formal tux, these spats are the things people notice and compliment. Who knew?

The mediums fit me very well! I am a men's 11.5. The fabric is elegant and shiny, and they are very well made. They add a real touch of class, pomp, and steampunkery to any pants, but especially black patterned pants! I will consider red for my next purchase.I mistakenly bought a size too big (large are for wide calves), and return was easy, I just paid shipping.
