A Perfect Blend of Durability and Functionality (UPDATED)
I recently purchased the SOG Medium Size Backpack, and I couldn't be more impressed! This backpack is the perfect combination of rugged durability and practical design, making it an excellent choice for daily use, hiking, or travel. First off, the build quality is top-notch. The materials used feel extremely sturdy and are clearly designed to withstand the elements. Whether youโre out in the rain or braving tough trails, this backpack holds up well. The zippers are smooth and robust, and the stitching is solid, which gives me confidence that this bag will last for years to come. The size is just right โ not too big, not too small. Itโs perfect for carrying all of my essentials without feeling bulky. Iโve used it for everything from work commutes to weekend hikes, and it fits my laptop, books, water bottle, and snacks comfortably. The main compartment has plenty of space, and the smaller pockets are well-organized, helping me keep my gear neatly packed. The adjustable straps are another highlight. Theyโre comfortable and provide good support, even when the bag is packed full. Plus, the padded back panel adds extra comfort during longer periods of wear. Thereโs also a handy chest strap for added stability when youโre on the move. SOG has clearly paid attention to the little things โ the high-quality materials, the water-resistant finish, and the ergonomic shape โ all come together to create a fantastic backpack that feels tailor-made for anyone who needs a versatile, reliable bag. Most importantly I must say this was a great value. Other bags at this price point done even come close to the quality of this bag. Highly recommended! Update โ 6 Months Later: Stitching Issue Between Compartments (Still a Great Bag) After 6 months of regular use, I have unfortunately run into a durability issue. The stitching that connects the front compartment to the main body of the bag has come loose, creating a hole between the two main compartments (photos attached). I have not been rough with the bag, just normal everyday use, so I am disappointed to see this happen on an otherwise excellent product. I have reached out to SOG in hopes they will offer a replacement or repair, and I will update again once I hear back. Still giving 4 stars for now because I really do like the design and functionality of the bag. It just needs to hold up better over time.

Perfect for my Vacation (and Other Applications)
I purchased this pack for a week-long vacation to Mexico. I carried it everywhere. It held items intended for the beach, day-long excursions, tours, etc. My wife initially told me I did not need a "Ninja Tactical Day Pack", to which I disagreed and purchased the pack anyway. However, on our trip my wife saw the light and repeatedly remarked on the convenience of my Ninja bag and stated, "Wow, I never should have doubted you." (That last part may have been a dream.) The bag is sturdy and can handle some weight. It easily held a couple small books, several bottles of water, and a host of other EDC items such as a knife, chap stick, sun screen, etc. It could be my uncanny packing skills, but the pack never felt overstuffed or cumbersome. Due to the strap configuration (especially the middle, connective strap) and padding on the side that rests against your back, this pack is comfortable to haul around for extended periods of time even when it's full of your gear. Additionally, the pocket and zipper configuration of this pack is logical and allows for items to be organized and quickly accessed later. For example, there is a soft-lined sunglasses pocket on the top that I used for my iPhone X with a large Otter Box case, which fit well and let me stow and retrieve it fast. Despite us being on the beach and in the sun, my phone never overheated inside that pocket. That was one of my favorite features. I ordered turbulent blue color, which had a more subdued and gray appearance. That worked best for me because I feel that the military colors attract unwanted attention, and I have two long-haired, white cats who ruin anything that comes in black. The turbulent blue is subtle, blends in well, does not seem to attract attention, and does not scream "military" or "LEO", which you may not prefer depending on your disposition. For me, this may be the best pack I have ever purchased for day-to-day activity. It would also make a good gym or "bop-around" (credit my wife for that phrase) bag if you don't already have something for those purposes. I hope this helps you all make the decision. Happy travels.

A rugged, indespencable piece of gear.
This is my EDC pack and it goes with me everywhere. It's the perfect size for my daily use or an outing. There are 2 small zipper pouches a larger pouch and a main pouch. The 2 larger pouches have a series I internal zipper mesh deviders an pockets as well as loops and a keyring holder. The outer Molle loops are a blessing for attaching additional gear.

Works well as a range bag
I've been using this for about a month now as a range bag. Pleasantly surprised, especially based on some of the negative reviews. I was prepared to accept a lower quality of build and finishing for the price point, but it's actually above what I would have expected. Webbing and stitching seem to be quality build, (not sure what denier as the description doesn't disclose this information). There are some small little strands of thread sticking out here and there, but they are just loose ends that haven't been trimmed and aren't indicative of bad or failing stitching. Only time will tell how durable it is, so I'll reserve a star in that category to allow the pack to prove itself. However, at this price point, replacing it every two to three years is completely understandable if, for some reason, it doesn't hold up. Molle loops seem to be standard size. The pack fits comfortably on the shoulders and I like the feel of the yoke style straps. There's also an adjustable sternum strap. It rests against the back comfortably as well with padding in the correct areas. I could see carrying this all day, though that's not how I use it. It also has a hole for a hydration tube. One of my favorite features is the soft lined glasses case at the top of the back near the handle. Use this all the time. I've put 20-30 pounds of gear in this with no concerns. The administrative pouch has lots of little pockets that are very useful. One thing I don't like is the skull emblem on the hook and loop. It's unnecessary. As is calling this a "Ninja" pack. Not sure who they are marketing to. This is made in China, but branded as SOG and supposedly carries a lifetime warranty. SOG doesn't carry this model on their site, so it may be an Amazon special. For my intended purposes this more than fit the bill. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another or even buy one as a gift. Good value overall.

Fantastic for the price.
Just got it and loading it up. Pros: Seems sturdy. Not sure what material it is, but itโs not as stiff as some Cordura Iโve seen, but it feels tough. But not so tough that you think the corners are going to rip out at the first bump. I half expected being a SOG that the zippers would be YKK, but they donโt have a brand on them. Regardless, they zip tight with the reaffirming sound youโd expect from a solid zipper. The stitching is clean, as in there arenโt any strands hanging out from where the machine stopped. The shoulder straps are the โharnessโ type, and not separate straps sewn in. The molle system seems to be to spec, since my other molle bags fit. And the color is awesome! I ordered the grey. They call it turbulent and itโs pretty cool. The water bottle pocket on the left side seems to have some insulation built in, and so does the hydration bladder cut out in the neck. Cons: so far, itโs just technicalities. The main pocket has two drain hole grommets in it. Iโm not a big fan of drain holes as they let water in while riding my motorcycle. Iโm also not a fan of wearing a backpack on my motorcycle, so it probably wonโt be an issue. That being said, I donโt plan on placing anything sopping wet into the main compartment, but I do plan on carrying a water bottle in the compartment on the left side. Or maybe a beer. The con is that it does not have a drain hole... as well, the hydration bladder tube slot at the neck is pretty small. My bladder has a valve on it and Iโm not able to make it through the slit. The main compartment zipper does not go all the way around. On the right side it runs to the bottom of the pack, but on the left side it ends at the water bottle pocket. Not necessarily a bad thing, but worth noting. The hydration pocket itself is clearly why they put the drain holes in the main compartment. It appears to be more of an afterthought and is stitched on. Itโs a small pocket with none of the other insulation or even separation from the rest of the pack. Just a pouch seen into the back part of the pack. Summation: for a $40 backpack, itโs way above its class. Priced right for its features, and doesnโt pretend to be anything it isnโt.

Perfect Everyday Pack โ Rugged, Comfortable, and Versatile!
I absolutely love this backpack! The SOG Ninja Tactical Day Pack is the perfect size for everything I need โ not too big, not too small. At 24 liters it holds my daily essentials, extra gear, and even has space for a hydration bladder when Iโm out hiking. The build quality is fantastic: durable fabric, solid stitching, and smooth zippers. Iโve carried it in the city, on trails, and while traveling, and itโs handled everything with ease. The padded straps and ventilated back make it really comfortable to wear all day, even when loaded up. I also appreciate the thoughtful design โ multiple compartments to keep gear organized, MOLLE webbing for attachments, and side pockets that actually fit water bottles. The tactical style looks great, but itโs practical too. Overall, this is hands-down one of the best backpacks Iโve owned. Whether youโre using it for everyday carry, hiking, school, or travel, the SOG Ninja delivers way above its price point. Iโd buy it again in a heartbeat!

Excellent Bag
Iโve had this bag for just shy of three years. I use it everyday carrying two laptops, shooting gear, and everything. The zippers are still strong, the straps are still strong and the bag itself is still strong. Iโve not had a backpack that has help up like this one before. The inner pockets are varied and still working well. Itโs comfortable, easily adjustable, and well built. The only thing I would like to see is a laptop pocket that is padded. But would absolutely buy again if needed.

Great day pack. I use it everyday.
This pack is just about perfect for my needs. I've been fighting with a too-small daypack for too long now. This item is a bit roomier, with more pockets to organize my stuff in, and the pockets are a good size for commuting back and forth to work or going out on a day hike. I don't go anywhere without a first aid kit and something to write on as well as a few other indispensable items. Outer side pocket is large enough for a Nalgene water bottle or a thermos, and you can easily carry two more thermos bottles inside the pack with room left over for a jacket and such. The straps are very comfortable on my shoulders even with the weight of two full thermos bottles. I like the molle loops that let you add additional storage pouches (for binoculars, for example) if you feel the need. The material is stout and the zippers are also beefy. My only complaint, which I believe will go away over time is that the material is so stiff that it's sometimes a bit hard to pull the zippers up and down. I'd rather have it stout than flimsy and this is obviously such a minor concern it hasn't affected my rating. I believe the problem will disappear when the material softens up with use.

Nice look but poor quality
Bought this three years ago and it has been a daily backpack. Unfortunately it falls apart. Seams are breaking up making the outer compartment to almost fall off. The zippers are also of poor quality and have broken. Did contact the reseller a month ago and ask for a refund. With the backpack there was a promise of life time guarantee. The reseller have not even mailed back. It looks good and has smart features but the poor quality and lack of contact results in that I do not recommend this product.

Okay, but overpriced.
The quality appears satisfactory, but the current price point does not align with its perceived value.
