If you have a keen olfactory sense WASH TO GET RID OF SMELL -> DUH! I have very sensitive smell/allergies, and I wash these each time I get them (i have bought 3 packs now, and share them around): How to wash these:~Use a lingerie bag/little nylon mesh zippered bag like I put all my masks in for me and family (all our masks are cotton, duh!) to put in the washing machine (with other 100% cotton load).~Use very little detergent for the load-> duh (you don't want smell in your face! use natural/clean unscented detergents for all you do! duh! i.e. planet, ecos, (or 7th gen unscented (in a pinch if nothing else avail.))~line/air/fluff/heater/fan dry ->duhFIT/SIZING: My head on smaller side, but nose on longer side, ears slightly on smaller side mb. These fit very comfortably. Stacking 2 if you're into that is still comfortable but does get a little warmer/wetter ->duh.These DO HAVE A TOP and BOTTOM! Make sure you orient them correctly or they will want to slip a bit! (I believe, for my face, the TOP (toward the eyes) is the longer-taller/more material side)PS> I wash ALL MY NEW CLOTHES at least once (sometimes twice) before wearing them b/c of chemical sensitivities, and I can still smell them for the next one to two times I am wearing them. That means, modern textiles take an average of 3.5 washings and 3 wearings until I no longer smell the chemicals used in manufacture/shipping!

I think these are great and they hold up well in the wash. I've had them for months, and just bought some more. There are times when this level of protection isn't appropriate. However, for me they stay perfectly in place, are not too thick, and enhance the protection of a surgical mask when necessary. When I wear one of these over a surgical mask, my glasses don't fog. It stays nicely in place because of the shape. I also think it's a good fit on the sides of my face and around my nose. My adult son finds the white or dark gray one works well for him also. Thankful!

We ordered a bunch of these for outings. They are BY FAR the most comfortable masks we have found. While they are more expensive per mask than some places, I feel it’s well worth it for the extra comfort and knowing it’s organic cotton. We live in the humid mid Atlantic and these have also been tolerable on hot days. Initially we had ordered one set for each person, but we decided to buy more once we had worn them and fell in love.What makes them comfortable? Fabric is super soft, not too thick, not too thin. The elastic straps that go over the ears are a generous length so that it doesn’t tug on your ears when wearing. Yet, they aren’t too long where they fall off your face. And even if they are too long, you can tie them to adjust the length.This review is part of promotion, but view expressed is my own.

I like that I can double up these masks and still breathe.

It's true that the elastic earpieces are thin. It remains to be seen how well they hold up over time. But they did a completely fine job of holding the mask in place. There was no slippage and the mask fits snugly. I like the shape which contours on the cheeks a bit so it fits under glasses (with no fogging.)I did not notice any chemical smell at all and I'm normally super sensitive to that kind of thing.The colors are nice and subdued.My only question about the masks is the the thickness - they aren't thick - and I wonder about the level of protection they offer. In a high risk or longer exposure situation, you would probably want/need something more hardcore. For general protection though, especially in our 110 degree heat, I think these are perfect.

I've bought these masks twice now and I'm about to buy more! They're by far my favorite masks. They're big enough to cover almost all of your nose and they don't slip down at all. I love that they're organic cotton too. Even though they're lightweight, I did the candle test (Put on the mask and try to blow out a candle. If you can't, it's a safe mask.), and it passed easily. I found the elastic strings just a little too long for me because I like a snug fit. I tied tiny knots on each end of the elastic and they fit perfectly and are still comfortable. My other family member found their fit to be just right. Look no further. You've found the best masks!

I am a teacher who has to teach all day in a mask. These are the only masks that I can wear that are comfortable and breathable! They are the only ones I can wear that will not give me a headache by the end of the day. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs to wear a mask for short or long periods of time. I also love that they are organic and I know I am not breathing in any harsh chemicals. Thanks for making a great product!

I bought these because they were organic and I was concerned about putting an on materials and chemicals on my face and breathing out of them for extended periods. So, in that regard, these are great. What isn't as great is that their cotton so the gaps in the fibers are larger and molecules can get through. The second is that I found them hard to breathe in. When I would breathe in word it was almost like I was creating a vacuum and I found these more challenging to breathe with than others.
