As expected
It's a £40 (incl delivery) combo receiver, not a £400 model. So for the price alone it gets 5* but it also does what it claims to do. The seller was very quick to address any queries/issues I had with the item I received. I have to wonder at some of the reviews slating every single characteristic of this receiver and berating its every flaw: perhaps these people expected to pay £40 and then receive a £400 piece of kit? I wonder where the problem lies? In people expecting a vastly higher quality item but only willing to pay £40? Or in the item itself, which sells at a very reasonable price and functions as the description states? Decide for yourselves.Yes there are compromises in it's manufacture and its operation. There have to be in order to sell it at this price, but I found all of them easy enough to accommodate, with a bit of common sense, or simply live with them. The tuning process can initially be a little awkward until you get accustomed to the firmware behaviour and then it's easy. The instruction manual needs a little attention due to some curious turns of phrase, but it's a hurdle that I think an adult with a bit of gumption can overcome. It manages to perform all the tasks that I require of it. I find it to be an especially pleasant piece of hardware when all the bbc channels have been permanently deleted from its database.

Great if you are Tech Savvy!
Arrived in fantastic time, I think somebody has found time travel? It works well and for the bit more Tech savvy this will be perfect. I got over 750 channels of which nearly 290 I couldn’t watch, scrambled or temporary. The channels were everywhere and difficult to locate but again if you are Tech aware it would be easy to sort.I’m afraid I’ve reverted back to my original, not so many channels but it’s a lot easier to use.

Would not buy this brand again
The unit comes with a manual with a typeface so small I needed a magnifying glass to read it. The manufacturer does not seem to have a website with product manuals. I connected the unit to my aerial and monitor and switched it on - all seemed well. When I started the auto scan it could not find any Freeview channels. I brought up the menu and saw that it was set to satellite input and tried to change it to Freeview - but the unit then asked me for a 4-character password - and there was no password supplied and no way to sort the problem using guidance on the internet. So boxed the unit up and sent it back to the seller - hoping for a refund...

The manual is very hard to understand and poor quality.
I used this product for one night, then it stopped working. Trying to get it replaced, but contacting the vendor through Amazon is confusing.

do not buy
would have given it no stars if it was possible they sent me a unit that was just a empty metal case with no internal electronics in it with a cable and plug on it when i got in touch with them to ask how it happened i got no reply i was given a refund but had to pay return postage myself buyer beware

Excellent if a little deaf on the Freeview receiver
I tried to test it first on using my old sky dish and it worked perfectly but when I tried to tune in to Freeview it received nothing.Eventually I took it to a different room where there is an aerial outlet. Then it worked well. The only downside is the uninspiring TV guides.

DON'T BOTHER.
What a load of junk, plugged it in only to find it didn't work. Return for refund requested only to find that we had to pay £3.75 for the the privilege of returning it. Still waiting for the money back 2 weeks later.

Cheap and works well
Bought as a cheap satellite receiver and it works perfectly. I found instructions clear but text is small. Easy to tune but loads of duplicates to delete. Good picture quality.
