The speed which the music is played does not leave the singers much room to deal with the dramatic depth of the music. Nor was the production helpfull. Lots of meaningless walking and waving arms about and embarrasing ideas which the audience I guess is supposed to pass as humor. Lots and lots of cuts everywhere! Even one of the most famous numbers - the quartetto in the first act - is cut completely. But some really beautifull singing. Therefor in spite of all the pain this production caused me a 3.

Sprühende Laune und wunderschöne Musik
Diese Inszenierung von Cimarosas "Die heimliche Ehe" in deutscher Sprache habe ich als Kind in der Deutschen Oper Berlin gesehen. Meine Erinnerungen waren in erster Linie solche an eine sehr lustige Inszenierung. Was der Herr Cimarosa für wunderschöne Musik geschrieben hat, das ist mir erst aufgegangen, als ich sie jetzt wiedersah und -hörte. Mit der darstellerischen Qualität der Sängerinnen wird das Ganze wirklich zum Genuss.

Erika Köth und Josef Greindl, grandios und unvergessen
Welches Theater hat heute noch so ein Ensemble !!!! Die Bühnenausstattung ist zwar etwas sparsam aber in das Stück integriert und erziehlt dadurch eine gute Wirkung. Erika Köth und Josef Greindl, beide genial und unübertroffen.Eine lohnenswerte und hörenswerte DVD.
