Worth spending a few more dollars to get high quality garden hand tools. Much stronger than my old ones and more comfortable grip. Will get many years usage.

Basic Gardener Tools You Should Have
Basic gardener tool set and quality built. I have clayey/rocky soil and these have held up great. No bent/broken handles due to the rough soil conditions. The edges have become dull but that is to be expected given my soil conditions.
