Highly Recommend for those who are Self-Employed
Being self-employed has many benefits, however keeping accounts organized does not fall under the benefits category. I am not, nor have I ever been, a financial guru so dealing with bookkeeping is something I tend to set aside. Because of my procrastination everything builds up and ends up being far more difficult than it should be, so I figured I would search for a book on how to make this easier.I considered a few different ones, but settled on QuickBooks: Step-by-Step Guide to Bookkeeping & Accounting for Beginners, because based on the description and reviews it seemed to be the best option for me.I gravitated to the book because the description states that the book includes a section on picking out the right software, which I have not gotten around to purchasing yet since it seemed an overly daunting experience. After reading this book, I feel a lot better about tackling my accounting. This book breaks everything down into detailed steps without talking above my head or burdening me with irrelevant details. If you are new to the world of self-employment, I would encourage you to take the time to buy this before investing in software.I am still far from an expert and bookkeeping will still never be a favorite task, but it no longer is a scary monster under the bed either. In truth, it’s like getting gas in the car, somewhat boring but easy and quick to accomplish, and of course quite necessary to continue moving forward.

Does what it promises - exactly what you need to get started with QuickBooks
QuickBooks and bookkeeping in general are one of the reasons being self-employed is such a stressful aspect for me. But “QuickBooks: Step-by-Step Guide to Bookkeeping & Accounting for Beginners” is exactly where you need to start if you’re a new entrepreneur or have been struggling to keep up with your financial tasks. As the title says, this book is exactly what you need to know to use QuickBooks, even before you buy the program. It will help you decide which version you need, how to install it, and then how to set everything up once it’s installed. You’ve got a playbook of exactly what you need to do and exactly how to do it so it’s no longer a big, scary monster hiding in the closet that you need to deal with eventually. Regardless of whether you just need to send invoices and keep up your bank accounts for tax season or if you have employees, payroll, and detailed accounts receivable, start with this book.

Informative Guide
QuickBooks: Step-by-Step Guide to Bookkeeping & Accounting for Beginners by Kevin Ellis is an informative little guide for those who are less than familiar with Quickbooks. This guide will help you decide which version of Quickbooks is best suited for your business, and then will get you well on your way to using this useful application. For the uninitiated, accounting is one of the less glamorous parts of running a business, but Quickbooks has made the task somewhat easier, if not yet a fun undertaking. This book covers all of the most important points, with detailed instructions, clear writing, and more. A good beginning guide to learn this software. Learn how to prepare financial statements and more.

An excellent guide and help
I have always had this aversion for data entry jobs. I think I run away from them as much as possible. It gest on my anxiety and feel like a drop in potential use. Once I discovered Quick Books, I knew they have what I need.Bookkeeping and accounting have been two things that I usually try to fend off. There is this feeling of " this guy does it better." that sometimes makes me not reach my potential. This step-by-step guide was surprisingly easy to follow. You can tell this author really loves what she does.I will not say this is the ultimate guide on bookkeeping, but it certainly helps to at least learn new stuff and to keep things in proper order.
