Vic Firth VICEARPLUG High-Fidelity Hearing Protection- Large Size (WHITE)

My niece asked for this particular piece as it was highly recommended by her instructor. It fit her well and it came with a cord so she does not lose it.

I play in a loud R&R band and have used foam earplugs, in-ear monitors and currently monitor headphones to protect my hearing. Foam plugs will work the best at blocking over 30Db of sound, but the sound is muffled. I was hoping these would decrease the sound but keep the clarity as it says in the ad. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen. They are good at protecting your hearing and they are reusable so that's a plus. But if you're looking to still hear the sound un-muffled, these won't work for you.

Unfortunately, I didn't take decent care of my hearing while I was blasting guitar through huge amplifiers for the past 50 years. I'm at a point where I have an extremely hard time hearing in a room with ambient noise. These really work , but you can still hear the performance. Without them, loud music makes my ears extremely uncomfortable. Younger people need to heed my warning and buy these.

When I originally started using these I thought they were not working at all as conversations and other noises didn't seem to be reduced much at all. When we fire up the amps and the drums/cymbals start... then you notice how they are protecting your ears. My ears are not ringing after band practice. I like them so much I bought a set for our guitarist and our drummer already had a set.

In the description it clearly states "20Db reduction". The back of the box (which just arrived) says "12Db reduction".Also the pictures are misleading on the Firth ear plugs. They dont come with a wide lanyard style strap. It comes with a very cheap/crappy string.

Awesome plugs. Being a professional musician I stand behin these ear plugs and you can’t beat the price! I recommend!

Great for taking tests to drown out other people sneezing, coughing, sniffling, breathing--you name it. I use these for school and swear by them.

I'm able to listen to myself thought the monitor while singing in a very loud punk rock band - if cleaned properly this can last a long time.

Very good for musicians

These are good and effective for me. Although I like the Alpine ones too, I prefer the Vic Firth ones because they are easier to put in / take out because of the "stems". The ribbon tape joining them together is also a neat idea. You can take them out temporarily and they just dangle round your neck.
