1 out of 2 ain't bad
Update: I've had this a bit longer now. The throw-up cat still hates it. He won't go near it. However the one that isn't very bright and poops when she thinks she's locked in decided the noise wasn't too bad and still hides under the bed on top of the crinkly blanket. So it works depending on the cat. At least it will make clean up easier.Day 1: Just got this yesterday evening. Background: I have two cats (10 & 13 years old) that hide under the bed. Normally that wouldn't bother me as everyone needs a safe place, but the male cat likes to hack up hairballs under there. He makes a lot of noise at night so we keep him out of the room and shut the door. We used to let the female cat in as she likes to sleep near my head, but by keeping the door shut to keep the other cat out she decided under the bed would be a great place to poop. We just can't have poop, hairballs, and barf under where we sleep.I decided to try the non electric deterrent first. So last night we took this out of the package and oh boy is it noisy. Very crinkly sounding. The cats were in there when we put it in. They have not gone near it since we put it under there. They were a bit moody at first - hissing, yeowling, but I showed them other hide-aways they could use when they are scared (thunderstorms-guests). They seemed to have calmed down. They probably will still barf and poop in places we can't see but at least it won't be under where we sleep. I will update if this changes but so far it works great.

Okay
I don’t know how our pets ignored this on our couch but they just knocked it aside and rolled all over the couch. Back to using shockers

My cats say "thank you" for their exciting new plaything
I knew when I ordered this mat that it might or might not work to repel Zoey, the cat who thinks she has a moral duty to pee on my bed periodically. Indeed, when I spread it out, both my cats were mesmerized by the crinkly sounds and frolicked across the mattress gleefully.Nonetheless, I am not particularly disappointed. Anyone who deserves to be owned by felines will understand that cats have highly individual responses to the kind of sensory input that this mat provides. The mat is reasonably priced, some cats (or dogs, I suppose, but I don't go there) might actually hate it, it's waterproof, and it looks a lot better on my bed than the shower curtain I had been using to protect the linens. So I don't regret trying it. If nothing else, it is a cosmetic improvement to my bedroom. And who knows, maybe Zoey will decide the mat is suitable for frolicking but not urinating upon. Stranger things have happened, when cats are involved.

Smaller pets, maybe?
My large breed dog jumped up on the couch with this cover on it, peed on it and then got down...both times I tried it. He also just moved it around so that he could find a corner to sit on. These do not wash up well, so once they are dirtied, they are garbage. Maybe with smaller breeds they would work better?

3 scared cats!!! 🙀
I have 3 cats who love to climb, scratch and rest on patio cushions. I was so worried about buying new furniture. This product was the answer!! Before I even set up my new furniture. I opened the "noisy" cover and showed it to the cats and made a lot of noise!!! I approached them with the cover and they ran away. I did this a few times before I put it on the furniture. Not once have they tried to get on the furniture. Lol. You have to tuck it under or behind the cushions so it doesn't come off with the wind. I use painters tape to keep the 4 covers connected (kind of a drag). But overall - am very pleased to protect my investment. I hope these last a long time - but I have the feeling they will wear out fast because they are outside. At least they are under a covered patio - so hopefully they won't wear out from sun damage. Ps - they look kind of cool - space age!!I am editing my review because I just found out that this company also sells an extra large sofa cover!! So I am changing from 4 to 5 stars!!! Now I won't have to use 4 cover. I can use the extra covers on the old patio furniture 👍🏼

First Day - no go
I don’t want to give stars yet - good or bad, so will leave average for now, as I just received today! As soon as I received, I put two on the sofa and one on the bed. I have an 8 month old yorkie and he jumps on sniffs and pees 😭😭😭😭😭.I’m hoping it keeps him off in the future. The good news is - it did not ask into the furniture. Now I may be using wrong - but i don’t think so. I had the foil side down and yellow side up.Any advice out there - definitely would love to have as potty training this little guy is challenging :)

Effective and best viable option for deterring animals...
It's very loud, and covers our couch perfectly so serves its purpose very effectively and I would suggest anyone purchase this. I do caution anyone though, because it sort of punishes you each time you have to put it on and fold it to sit on your furniture, reminding you that your cat is a jerk and is still dictating your lives. He otherwise would be sitting on our couch and drooling over everything so this is our best solution. I love him so much and he's adorable and affectionate, but that drool...*shudders* Another tip: ensure that you've tucked this completely into all possible places on your furniture, or your cat will slip easily under it and have nice naps beneath it, as ours did/does if we aren't diligent.
