Aquarium Replacement Pump

I bought my python back in the early 1990s. While typing that made me feel very very old. This product is incredible and has lasted me a long, long time. It would’ve been fine except I dropped it onto my bathroom tile and it cracked. Totally my fault and I’ve done this. I don’t know how many times through the years was surprised that it broke this time. This replacement was very similar. It has all the same features. It it felt a little lighter. And it is just like everything else in life they don’t make them like they used to It works great. It’s still a terrific product however, I noticed that until it breaks in it was a bit harder to get it to go from suction to film mode. I’ve been using it for a couple months and it’s gotten better but at first, I noticed a distinct difference between my while broken and model and this one. I expect this one to last just as long, and hopefully I won’t have to buy this for another couple decades I do water changes weekly. I have over a dozen tanks. I do half on week one and the following week. I do the other half but it’s kind of my weekly ritual to do this so the product has been very well used in the last couple months since I got it, I was reviewing something else and saw that this had not been reviewed so I felt I had a shout out how great this thing is.

I use to have a 55 gallon fish tank in my apartment. I would use 5 gallon water containers to transfer water to and from the tank. That was a lot of work and it use to drive me nuts when I had to clean the tank so I eventually started shrugging off the duty. Cleaning the tank became a quick and easy task. I no longer have a fish tank but the reason I bought this replacement pump was because I accidently broke my old one. It was not a product flaw but my own stupidity. I own my own home now and I use the same 25 foot kit for when my power goes out to drain my sump pump. This product is aimed at aquarium owners but it would be useful for anyone who might need to drain water using a public water supply. Pros: * Easy to use. * Can Siphon or Fill water * Has standard garden hose pipe threads and comes with an adapter that will fit most faucets with a unscrewable aerator. It worked with my Moen faucet. * Moves water efficiently. The more water pressure the faster it will move the water. Cons: * Plastic pipe threads are easy to cross-thread.

This device is perfect for quickly removing water from small fountains or sumps as long as you have a garden hose and access to water. It works very well, has no moving parts, and it's designed to quickly and easily reverse flow (to clear plugs) when/if needed. It's exactly what I was looking for to maintain my small garden fountain.

I bought this to replace the failing head on my 50 ft Python system. The old one got to the point where it was spraying more water out the bottom than it was pumping back into my tank. I couldn't see where the issue was, but obviously it was in this piece. I put the new one on and the problem is 95% solved. It still leaks a little water out the bottom, but hardly enough to worry about. I saved my $70 Python with this $10 replacement part. I'm quite happy

Our old one broke after several years. This was exactly what we needed to fit our existing python system. It seems to be the same quality, so I expect another several years. Just don't overtighten on your faucet.
