Will buy again.
I was initially concerned about this light b/c the reviews were mediocre, but I am glad I bought it. The color is great and it is very bright. I actually just ordered a second one to replace a fluorescent bulb I was using. Using these 2 bulbs on my 10 gal Half moon reef tank. Light intensity is great..... Not too blue and not too white. Perfect balance. Definitely not as blue as some of the other pictures have shown. The picture I included is with only 1, but the fluorescent light doesn't add much to it. Quality is good as well. Very nice aluminum heat sink. Light doesn't get too hot but I would say very warm?? (I can touch it without burning).... I also made a DIY light fixture using the smaller aluminum clip on lights from Home Depot. [...] ...... Fits perfectly and looks really nice painted black.EDIT: It has now been several months and I am still very happy with these lights. The spread of light is nice and there is just enough blue to make your corals color show nicely. I'm even growing LPS (frogspawn, hammer), Leathers coral, tons of zoa's and some SPS (digitata and sour apple birds nest) in the tank with pretty good growth. I would definitely buy these again for a Nano reef tank...... I think 1 per 5 gallon of tank is enough. Im using 2 on my 10 gal half moon the tis nearly 20 inch tall and they work great. The newest picture is with all my coral growing in nicely.... LPS are multiplying, Zoas are growing and SPS have quadrupled in size in just about 2 months.

Decent solid lights in the correct spectrum, price could be better
I purchased this light as a blue booster for my hydroponic plant growing and i do have to say that it was worth the investment. It has stopped the stretching of my plants and has added just the right spectrum of Blue in the 450-470nm wavelengths. i was really impressed with the brightness of the light being only a 12 watt bulb. I am only giving it a 4 star as i was slightly disappointed in the quality of the heat-sink. it was cheaply made, very heavy for its size and there were many burrs left attached to the unit from its machining process at the manufacturer. I was able to see that these units wholesale for $7.50 on average in china. I think they could be a little lower in price but what the hell, i needed them quickly.

Well made, exactly as described.
I just got this a couple weeks ago, so I'm still forming an opinion on this unit.I've bought ABI LED lights before, but my prior purchases were red/blue "grow lights." I've always been impressed with quality, and this unit lives up to my expectations for quality. It's a very well made unit, it provides bright light, and the light mix is as described.I guess at this point, I should also say that I'm using this light as a grow light for plants, not as an aquarium light for fish, coral or aquatic life. For my purposes, the big positives for this light are:* Brightness: This light is very bright, comparable to many 15W units and some that are questionably rated at higher power.* Color: For my purposes, I was looking for a light with a lot of blue for my leafy culinary herbs. These plants did poorly last year under the "bloomin' purple" grow lights, and advice from a botanist and a couple of master gardeners was that I needed a lot less red light and a lot more blue light for leafy plants. The light is very blue, probably bluer than some competing "aquarium lights." For my application, that's an advantage.* Beam focus: This unit focuses in a beam at about a 30° angle. I'd call it a wide spot beam. It's definitely not a flood beam with wide coverage. The first photo I'm uploading shows the beam is about 12 inches wide at a distance of 20 inches from the face of the bulb unit. For my application, that's pretty close to idea. Outside that 30° beam, this unit puts out very little light, so for my application, all the light is going on my plants, and little is wasted and scattered throughout the room. The second picture shows my actual application, in a hanging planter/grow light fixture. We'll see how my leafy plants do under the bluer light from this unit. I'm hoping for better growth and less "bolting" and early blooming from my winter, indoor cilantro and sweet basil.

Odd. Not blue at all.
Strange, I bought this and it's not very blue. Also not a very wide spread, this was over a 5 gal Pico. Nothing like the other photo reviews I've seen. Fairly bright enough just nothing like I thought it was going to be I guess I'll try the tuna blue version. Kinda had higher hopes.

Good bang for your buck!
I bought this light to use over a small 6 gallon reef tank on my desk at work, I bring in frags from my big tank at home to lower my blood pressure at work ;0)I have the bulb screwed into a $7 desk clamp light I got from Walmart, and the light sits about 18 inches above the water line, even there it is almost too much light, but it works, Good construction, fired right up, happy with everything about it. As some people have noted it leans pretty significantly toward the blue spectrum, but it's not horrible. Some corals fluoresce, others don't so for me too much royal blue not enough 425 actinic...but for $25 its near perfect! Interested to see how the growth proceeds over time, but for now everything is out and looking for the light!

My green bubble tip anemone likes it.
I like this light! It's a beautiful combination of blue and white and its just the right amount of light I need. I do use it for my bubble tip anemone. I put it very close to the water though. Anyway, she likes it. 😃Update 10/30/2016: I have been using it for a little less than half a year (didn't use it for the summer). I have used it for my GBTA about 2 months. It's been doing well. Now I realize it is getting close to the end of its product life. It's getting really dim and to a much more blue tint instead of the brightness it used to provide. Now its light is obviously not enough for bubble tip and probably not even enough for any corals (some algae still can grow though). So I suggest to replace old ones after about 4-6 months of use.
