Bush Furniture Somerset 60W Desk Hutch in Maple Cross, Attachment with Shelves and Cabinets for Home Office

Very well-made/sturdy piece that adds lots of extra storage and functionality. It really transformed the look and feel of my home office. I love it.It was packaged well and I had no difficulty with assembly.

Arrived on time. Had scuffs on face and corners. Easy assembly. Screws too long, caused damage to face area. Rather disappointed.

A perfect match and goes well with matching desk.

I bought this along with the Bush "L" desk. Whereas I give the L desk a five star due to it's construction I give the hutch a three star. The hutch has no-where the durability of the desk. There are several areas which stick out such as the wooden bar in the top middle of the hutch is simply held on by glue instead of fasteners. When nailing the backboard onto the hutch, I put the nails where suggested but each nail made a slight upward furrow where the nail went in. The hutch looks good on the desk but it is held on by only two brackets in the back. This can cause an issue as the hutch can be moved back by accident and will push the rear brackets off of the desk. Bush should have come up with a design to use their connectors to 'lock' the hutch into place onto the desk. I wound up going to Home Depot and purchasing small 1/4" L-brackets which I used to secure the hutch to the desk. I p[laced the brackets on the inside of the hutch where they would not be seen and the brass fittings look great. Once this was done the hutch was securely fastened to the desk and the whole unit became much sturdier.

We bought two of these for two desks we bought. Assembly was a little tougher than expected but the quality was a little better than expected too. My wife and I put them together, no special skills or tools required.

Went together well and is as expected. I was concerned about its shipping. I see no issues others have mentioned about sagging. The most important aspect for me was to fit my hi-res monitors underneath - it's 19.5" open height allows me to put two hi-res monitors under it.

Panel A was cut short by about 1/2in preventing complete assembly. Panels A and D have severe warping out of the box that prevented the side doors from closing completely. The material that Bush uses on these is not structurally sound. If you can get it properly assembled, do no place any weight on the Hutch or you will get bowing/warping in the middle. I tested this with a 2lbs books on the middle shelf and bowing occurred to the extent that the doors were prevented from closing and opening. I would not recommend Bush Furniture until they can create stronger material to fit their price range. It was not worth the cost.

Very easy to put together. Light enough for one person to lift into place. Looks great. Good price too.
