Good quality bulb - great value for money

Let's be honest, these have never been a particularly long lasting product. And this Eveready version is no better or worse than those of yore. Technology has now (finally <sigh>) reached the point where 99% of domestic lighting can effectively be provided by LED devices rather than hot tungsten. However, if you happen to be stuck with an electric heater (for example) which has a 'flame effect' produced by an aluminium whirligig driven by the convection current from a hot light bulb then you'll still need one of these. Unless, that is, someone has already invented an LED bulb that has the wibbly wobbly flame effect built in.Annoyingly, when this package arrived, along with a number of other items I had ordered, including a further three lightbulbs of unrelated design and manufacture, they were all shoved into one big box with NO padding and so, inevitably three of the six bulbs were damaged: one smashed to bits, one smashed internally and another damaged internally but miraculously still working (but with presumably a reduced life).An acceptable outcome was however effected, as ever, by Amazon.

Used inYeominster Radiant coal effect fire, Adequate except that one bulb was a dud which made me wonder if my fire was ok, Luckily the other two were OK but it was annoying as it's difficult to change the bulbs and gave me extra hassle
