These are really effective ONCE you learn how they work. On the box are two - and only two - very cryptic thumbnail illustrations; these are the only " instructions. HOWEVER, a quick dash to YouTube turn out a host of very informative videos on how to proceed. So . . . My verdict is five stars and a strong recommendation for better INCLUDED instructions

Once you go to YouTube University and learn how to properly use this, it works great and whenever using my Staedtler mechanical lead holder I keep this nearby. My only dislike of this is that the lead dust easily leeches out and will coat everything in your case/holder. Just keep it in a small zip lock back to keep the rest of your supplies clean

This is a great sharpener for 2mm graphite refills used in mechanical pencils. There is a larger hole for standard pencil sharpening and two holes for the graphite. From these you can choose to get the point laser sharp for the finest if lines or a more relaxed sharpening for smooth, creamy lines and optimal shading. These options also work great for variety of hand lettering and calligraphy. For me it was neater than using the sharpener found inside the caps of some mechanical pencils/holders. Mine had no instructions except what I thought was a miserly diagram on the box. But after looking it up on the web I understood it completely.

Ideal for pointing leads for the Staedtler or any other type of holder. Has two different sharpness settings, is reliable and easy to use. I use mine several times on different lead grades (6H to 8B) and never have a problem. A wise investment as the little sharpeners on the ends of the holders are nearly useless.

Do not buy this product if your lead is an artists lead for drawing. It has two gauge holes in the top into which you place lead as extended from the pencil. This shows you how far the lead should be extended from the pencil when placed in the sharpening hole. But these holes are small and accept only two small sizes of lead. Thus it is ineffective for sharpening thick lead. Any lead thicker than the lead you might find in some traditional mechincial pencils will not be properly sharpened by this device. Amazopn does not tell you that in the description.

This product sucks. If you are looking for a sharpener for your 2mm lead with a reservoir look elsewhere. This will break your leads, every single one without failing. I cannot undersell how this product is just plain crap for a reputable brand. Please do not buy it or you will be disappointed. You will. Hey, you! You, reading this! Don’t buy this! This is crap!

Best 2mm sharpener ever

Ich habe zwei Stück davon, einen für zu Hause und einen für die Werkstatt. Das Spitzen geht so schnell und einfach. Es gibt kein gefühlt stundenlanges Drehen an einem Anspitzer. Hier ist es so, dass man zwei Löcher hat, je nachdem, wie spitz der Stift werden soll. Danach steckt man den Stift in die obere große Öffnung, in der er gut gehalten wird, und muss nur noch drehen. Ich würde sagen, ein abgebrochener Stift ist in unter 30 Sekunden wieder spitz.
