These guys are really on it.
RECEIVED WORKING RADIO AND AM CHANGING MY REVIEW TO FOUR STAR....AT LEAST FOR NOW: My reasons: this company was on my complaint IMMEDIATELY and offered either refund or exchange. I liked the design, so I opted for replacement. They kept in communication the whole time before I received it. Have had it for a few days and really like it so far. Rating it four stars as it seems to be exactly what they advertised but I want to keep and use it a few months before i add a fifth star. SO FAR: it is even better than it seemed online. The flashlight at the end is excellent, and the radio surprisingly good. The whole thing fits into a pocket and is light, well designed and useful. It charges with a USB cord...included...or by crank for when the chips are down. OVERALL: Am impressed with both the radio and the people behind it...who went way beyond usual in service and integrity. It works well on all channels, charges most anything. I haven't tried charging my new iPhone 6...the big one...with it...but will soon. Again: I bought one for me and another for a friend for his birthday in December. His worked. Mine didn't. The company responded immediately to the problem, and Fedexed my new phone as soon as they had one. That gets my vote. I live in the country on a remote hill and need something this good. If it works well after four months, I will probably get another for my daughter and her family. It's essential here in earthquake and fire country.IMPORTANT ADDENDUM:I received a reply within five hours on a Friday evening. These guys are really ON IT. They offered me a new radio or a refund with no hassle AND an apology because it wasn't in stock. I really like the design, so am opting for a new radio. If it all works, I will be back to review the working model.BUT TWO THINGS: This company has fast, fair, and very human response. That alone is very, very impressive. The radio itself is small, with a powerful flashlight and a very handy design. If I can get a working model, I think I will like it a lot. We'll see. Check this space later, as I will give it a fair review when I get it. But give the company FIVE stars for response and concern. The flashlight works beautifully. But the radio refuses to turn on, no matter how long I crank or charge it. They have a website with a phone number that is out of order. But they followed through with an email to see if I received it. I replied tonight to see if they will either swap it or allow me to return it.The radio itself seems a really good design. It is small, red, and perfect for an emergency kit. But first it must have a working radio. Will post again as soon as I hear from them as to what they will do, and review the radio as soon as I get one that works.By the way, I bought two of them full retail and at no discount in December....one for a birthday gift for a close friend and the other for me. My friend...in another city...says his works well. He lives too far from me to see.

Basic, functional, not end all be all with some functions.
First off I have seen this design with numbers different "brands", not sure if by design but a warning if looking to make sure get certain features look closely.Wanted to get one for a bug out bag and specifically got this one due to the reviews and features. Took it out the day I got it in mail and was happy to see it had 3 ticks on the charge already, yet even with minimal use and lots of direct, bright sunlight I haven't seen it hit full, unless 3 ticks is as high as goes (which design appears to have extra room for 4th). Radio came in nice and clear even without the antenna up, save for when close the metal on my bike/stroller. The light is not super bright but will help when you are looking for something in the dark at short distances, if looking more for a light buy a collapsible lantern (e.i Luci) or an actual flashlight. The clip I do have some issues with. It can't be placed on anything bigger due to tightness of work-space to clip it. I actually attached it to my backpack and a minute later when I turned the latch (which is spring loaded to keep it up) must have shifted to the side and topped up causing the unit to fall and the glued down plexiglass over the solar panel to pop off. The unit still works and the glass able to be pressed back into place, but I wish this clip was designed a bit better/sturdier.Lastly the band that the unit comes with has some nice features all-in-one but that also leads to the Achilles heal effect; the more you put together the less functionally it works. The whistle works but not going to be useful for longer distances or in noisy areas. The compass, like most water balanced compasses, requires a steady surface and sometimes a little tipping back and for in order to orient it right. Due to the placement of fire starter it is hard to get a spark off, take time to practice before an emergency and clear off coating a bit too.I have not used this unit yet to charge a phone as I have other units that are outdoor ready with lights and bigger charge.Overall the radio unit will be useful in an emergency but if you are looking at the extra wrist strap, while it is useful, make sure to research into some equipment more designer for each function, even if separately throw them in a mini bag and go.
