MakitaJR3051T Recipro Saw - 12 AMP

Bought this to demo framing (windows, walls) in an OLD building with solid, real lumber. With this saw (and the correct blade) it feels like I'm cutting through butter with a warm knife. I like being able to hand the saw on a ladder rung or sturdy screw for those times I need to grab a hammer or flat bar - much more convenient than lowering the saw to the ground by the power cord! I'm not the strongest fella in the world, and this saw is not light, but well balanced, so I am able to use it comfortably. Have cut through wood, copper, steel, shingles.... easy to swap blades as well. Overall, quite happy with this purchase.

I’m very happy with this saw. It’s more powerful and has less vibration than my old Milwaukee. The metal case is nice as well. This item was shipped to me quickly.

UPDATE #2:This saw continues to amaze me. Makes light work out of everything I throw at it. Powerful enough to saw through everything I need it to. Anti vibration is nice especially when cutting at an angle.UPDATE:Used a bi-metal blade and this cut through some old metal railings with ease. Cuts were clean and quick. Can't say enough good things about this.I was hesitant to get the AVT model as I thought it was a gimmick. It's not. There is a noticeable difference with this compared to other sawzalls I've used. It has a good heft to it, but is not cumbersome or difficult to maneuver. It chews through wood and drywall with ease. Have not and probably won't use it on pipe, so can't speak to its ability there.Price was good and the metal carrying case was a nice touch. Highly recommend.

Heavy. I love the metal box it came with. Likely too much for my needs.

Would be nice to have a variable speed on trigger instead of the set speed control. As someone else reviewed, this thing is a BEAST. There right but you'll appreciate the heft. Doesn't get thrown around when starting to bind while cutting and try to jump out of your hands. It just keeps going. It seemed a little pricey to me but i sure got what I paid for.

For price it offers a lot. Each part works well. In my opinion, vibration is not harsh. Weight is fair, considering it is not a battery powered unit. All and all a good buy. Quick delivery with care.

I was intimidated to use this Sawzall; 5'3'' small lady so even after reading the directions, I had the contractor to show me how to use it while he watched me; (which is why I purchased this one b/c it is the one that the contractor owns for himself) MOST IMPORTANT BE CAREFUL AND TAKE YOUR TIME LADIES! FEAR is your ENEMY! LIKE I SAID JUST BE CAREFUL ESPECIALLY INSERTING AND REMOVING THE SAW BLADES!

Have had this tool now for four years.It's light enough to carry up a ladder to cut tree branches.It's powerful enough to saw through a 2x8 plank in less than a minuteIt can cut through concrete (with the right blades)!Definitely one of the best tools in my collection!
