TICAUMGA Surf Spinning Fishing Rod Series

I don't like to rate things until I have had a chance to use them. (This Review was for the 9ft MH) After a full season all I can say is I love this pole. Strong and light with good back bone for any fish you are likely to encounter from the surf. I use it mainly for Stripers, Blues and Fluke. The pole casts 6ozs with ease. I have used it with 3oz plugs and such and also cast very well. The pole is sensitive enough to detect Whiting, but strong enough to pull in larger fish. Pulled in a few Brown Sharks up to 4 feet long the year pole was bent in half but no problem.Love this pole so much, bought one for my fishing buddies birthday and will probably try the 10 footer myself this year. I also had a chance to work with Tica's customer service as the rod has a rubber plug at the bottom which must have fallen off late last year. Contacted Tica's customer service and spoke to a live person who was so accommodating despite it being past the 1 year warranty.Excellent Rod Excellent Customer Service at a great price - I fish 30 to 40 times a year so it has been tested.

Though I wish Amazon knew how to properly package a fishing rod (first one came damaged, but Amazon replaced it very quickly with no questions asked so we're square), I could not be happier with this beauty of a surf rod. I mainly do bottom fishing when I hit the surf (lures are not as effective here in the mid Atlantic as it is up north), and this rod had just enough stiffness without sacrificing sensitivity (you do not need to cast a country mile, in fact where I fish most flounder and other species are in the breakers and wash). Because of this sensitivity, I was able to feel the flounder nibble, and was able to catch a few on my most recent outing. I would definitely recommend this rod to anyone looking for a good surf rig for the mid Atlantic region.

I ordered this rod twice. The first one was received with a broken tip. Returned that one and the second one was fine. My buddies have these rods so I’d fished them before. Heavy tip action for big fish is a plus . Can handle up to a 8oz. sinker easily. I’ve caught cow stripers to 25lbs. and white catfish to 20lbs. with no problem.

I'm a "TICA" fan! A friend of mine introduced me to this brand 2 years ago. I got "Sportera" reel, now I got a rod. About the rod: it's light weight and it's acting pretty well on casting. So far, I've caught 15 bluefish on one day, that range between 12 and 14 inches and recently a 39-inch striper with it.. No complaints whatsoever! Let's not forget the price: around $60, which is pretty reasonable for a 9-foot rod. For a long time" Amazon" didn't carry this brand, but now I see they have a good variety of "TICA" rods and reels. Strongly recommend it. You don't have to spend a fortune in order to get a good quality item!

Not really what I wanted (Can you say Gift) unfortunately I don't care for the eye positions, it's a personal call nothing against the rod.

Only complaint is I would have preferred it have a guide(eye)on the bottom section of the rod

Really nice rod for the money. I have had many rods, including Tica's. This is the first in this series, and I am fairly impressed. Nice looking, lightweight for the size, and a really good value. If you are looking for a competition heaver, you're looking in the wrong price range. If you are looking for a really nice surf rod without breaking the bank, then buy this. You will be happy.
