9 times of 10 = 1 time in 10 = bad
We use about a bag per month. Usually they are good. But I just received a bag that is very bad. The shells are stained grey as if they had been wet. The nuts are bad as a result. Even the squirrels won't eat them. Unfortunately, they can't be returned. Money wasted on this bag.UPDATE:I had ordered two bags in my previous order, I just threw one bag away and opened the second bag. Horrors! It was as bad, or worse, than the other bag. Don't know what has happened. After 35 good bags, I get two bad ones in a row. Too bad. I try to find something else.

Inconsistent quality
I purchase three bags. Once was [probably the best bag of peanuts ever - all on the small side, but clean and perfectly roasted. The second bag was mostly burned and most of the shells were broken. The third was so full of shells that I think their weight must have come close to the actual nuts. So ... I got a one star bag, a three star, and a five star.I'll likely try them again, but these seem more suited for birds and squirrels than humans, but then way too expensive for that.

great smell and taste
These are normal size peanuts (not jumbo). For those interested in freshness dating, I ordered these on October 20, 2016. The bag I received has a best buy date of March 30, 2017. The peanuts smell wonderful in the bag and, so far, they taste fresh as well. These are also better than what my local grocery stores carry.UPDATE: I've since ordered several bags. Apparently, Hoody's has a quality control problem. While the best buy date is always a few months away, the peanuts never taste consistently good from bag to bag.

Poor quality
Just received a 5lb bag on Dec.29th, 2018. Small in size, not fresh and the expiration date of Jan. 19th,2019, two weeks left on the shelf life. Given the price, I would expect much more from the quality control side of this business. And I'm sure these types of Companies often wonder why they can't grow their business...hint...hint. Oh well, I wouldn't repurchase this product from this Company again and I can't recommend them.

The peanuts are less than a third the price of any other shelled peanut and taste like... peanuts
Confused by most of the poor reviews. Those people use them for squirrels and complain about freshness and how they look?!? I can only wish I had that kind of money to burn for forest rats.My entire family and friends eat them and everyone says they are really good.I will continue to purchase these and hope that this company continues to offer them at the awesome low price. If you plan on feeding squirrels with them.. dont be so upset they may look dirty ( they grow in the dirt) or be broken.. the squirrels probably wont mind ;) .

Some spoilage, but the best tasting by far
For whatever reason, these are the best tasting unsalted shelled peanuts by far - they're even better than most salted peanuts. I've tried three other brands since I had these, and they're all bland in comparison. When I eat these it's like eating peanut butter, when I eat the others I'm wondering where the flavor is and end up putting most of the bag outside for wildlife to eat. Nothing but Hoody's for me from now on.Yes, there's about 5-10% wastage depending on the bag, but it's well worth it to me for the flavor.

Best peanuts!
These are my favorite nuts but this seller has grossly overpriced them. If you like them salted, Costco sells the same size for 1/3 of the price.

Not So Good
I ordered these and was disappointed. Some of the nuts were already out of the shell, some were broken in half so you had a half-shell peanut, they did not have that fresh crunchy taste that Hoody's peanuts usually have. I checked the buy date and they were saleable into 2019. I feel like these were not the best that Hoody's offers. I usually get them from Costco but decided to try these. I'll buy Hoody's again but not these.
