COR SurfAero Roof Rack Pad and Premium No-Scratch Cam Buckle Tie Down Straps with Protective Silicone for Surf, SUP, Kayak and Canoe (19" Narrow Black)

I bought the pads and straps combo and they work very well for holding my stand-up paddleboard on to the roof of my car. The only problem is that in the pictures, they show the strap laid out flat over the top of the paddleboard/surfboard but I recommend that you give the strap a twist as it goes over the board so that it's not perfectly flat. When it's flat the strap can vibrate on the highway, slapping the board repeatedly and making a very annoying sound. Doesn't matter how tight you synch it. If you put a twist in the strap it doesn't vibrate and is much much quieter. Otherwise, the product is great and it buckles stay nice and tight

I have the older, rectangular Thule bars and although these pads fit nicely, because of the narrower diameter of my bars there wasn't a wide enough strip of velcro on these pads truly secure them to my bars - I'd say about 30% of the velcro was able to adhere.I secured the ends with tie wraps to make sure they stay on straight. This brings me to my second "gripe". Make sure you secure them in such a way that the pads don't "rotate" around the bar. In my case I had two boards loaded and as I cinched down the straps I watched the bar pads get compressed and then rotated down so they were no longer between the board and the bar. I took the boards off and worked to secure the pads in place better and then it was all good - pad between board and bar.Put a couple turns in your straps so they're not "flat" against the board or boards before cinching down and you'll all but eliminate any wind noise issues.

Ordered once, NO strap or bag included. Returned. Ordered a second time, second chance with same outcome. Again just the pads. Pads seem nice, but you will need other means to secure your board. Ughh.Had to contact seller Cor Surf to get pads, still no bag. Per Cor Surf - Amazon did not fill properly with the combo set, just pads.

I purchased these because I wanted to be able to flip my kayak upside down and secure it directly to the roof rails but wanted to keep kayak from getting scratched. It doesn’t work for that. To start with the pads are not long enough to fully cover the standard sized rails, so when I put the kayak on it, it only protects one side. Also, DONT USE THE STRAPS without testing them! At first I thought the silicone straps were easy and awesome. However, one of them was totally defective. I used it just as instructed and after I pulled it taut I checked it by pulling on the middle of the strap, it instantly came loose, I barely had to try! The clamp part doesn’t lock for some reason. I’m glad I checked or it would have been a disaster. Anyway, the foam pads may work well for surfboards, but if you need them to fully cover your rails, then keep looking.

I took a bit to review these as I waited for a long trip to the beach (4 hrs) and use over several days to see how they worked in reality. Bottom line is they worked great and I would recommend them if you are considering purchasing some pads and straps. Like a few others that gave reviews, I didn't initially receive the straps - only the pads. I sent COR a message and they quickly responded that they've had issues with Amazon fulfillment leaving out the straps but they sent me a set very quickly - no concerns from my end as this isn't COR's fault. I really like that the latches on the straps are covered with rubber to avoid scratching the car. Once you've learned how to properly secure the boards (I had 2 x 8' long boards), you can easily strap down and be on your way in less than 1 min. I did notice that putting a half twist on the strap and knotting up any excess strap kept the roof noise to a minimum. I would definitely recommend buying these pads/straps as it doesn't get any easier and I never worried about them coming undone on my long drive down to the coast and back.

These were exactly what I needed for my 2012 Subaru Outback with stock cross bars. Used recently to make 300 mile trip with 2x 11' sups. The fit of the pad was perfect and the included straps worked nicely. I had to come to a very fast stop on the freeway and in my mind the boards were going to end up a mile ahead of me on the freeway but they were perfectly secure. Recommend.

I suspect this would be a 5 star product if they could get the distribution straightened out. Unlike other reviews, mine came with all that was promised, and looked quality built - but I ordered 'small' circumference for my aero bars. The pads that arrived are too big, but I suspect they sent the 'large' size. The product packaging has check box labels that are supposed to marked, but they weren't (even unchecked in the advertising photos). So I don't know if the 'small' was sent and was just too big - or more than likely, the 'large' was sent because the packaging didn't tell anyone what size it was. I won't order again without knowing if that assumption is correct.

It didnt come with instructions so I had to YouTube how to put everything together, but once I got the hang of it, it was easy! It's easy to assemble on my manufacturer roof rack and I love that the buckles have the silicone cover. I'm not worried about it hitting my car or my board!

They work perfectly and they appear to be great quality. I am very happy with this purchase so far.
