A House Full Of Teckin Smart Plugs
This was the latest of around 12 Teckin Smart plugs we have around the house. I have tried many different brands over the 2 year switch from X10 controllers and these are the best. It’s a very small and discreet unit only protruding by about an inch and the circular shape means the switch on the wall is still accessible. Tuya is my favourite app and stayed with it from the beginning ensuring any switches or bulbs are compatible. Pairing is simple 30 second task. Once connected you have timed, automated, triggered options available and all of these can be created & edited from anywhere in the world. You can see the type of options from the screen shots. Tuya also works with Alexa so every one of our smart switches can be controlled with a vocal command. The future is here embrace it :)

Easy Setup
The Product is super easy to setup. It took me just 5 mins to set it up. It arrives in a very good packaging and a very detailed instruction leaflet. The QR code makes it convenient to spot the right App you need to support his device. Also, it allows easy accessibility to you Smart device ( Alexa or google).I used it for the Christmas tree and it works well.

Simple, robust, reliable but no IFTTT
This smart plug is a surprisingly good little bit of kit. If you have any other smart devices that use Smart Life, they all install a standard way but a pro tip is to turn off your 5GHz wifi network before attempting. I found I needed to use the AP method of installing but once that was accepted, it was good to go. Total set up time was under five minutes. The device is very small and its round form factor looks a lot better than some smart plugs. I've also found it's pretty stable. If you've got Alexa and have SmartLife enabled, it finds the new plug pretty much immediatelyThe big downside is that there's no IFTTT integration unlike a lot of devices that work with Smart Life. Also beware - the manufacturer is trying to incentivise reviews. I did not receive any such reward for writing this review.

As smart as smart gets
I bought this a week ago and just wanted to leave a review for it, this smart plug is so easy to use there are multiple apps available to link them up but I use smart life as my bulbs are connected via that same app, once connected Alexa automatically senses it and adds it so one simple command starts it up, I have this one connected to our kettle at home as a smart kettle is too expensive at the moment so before bed I switch the kettle on and as the plug is set up on a timer it starts to boil the kettle when my alarm goes off in the morning meaning I can make a tea and the baby’s breakfast straight away, as these are round they are easier to get to the socket switches just in case you want to actually turn off the sockets rather than just the plugs (button on the side) they come very well packaged (looks like Apple packaging) I would be happy to recommend these to anyone

Works very well, LAN access not required!
I have a few smart-home devices set up and wanted a smart plug to control a lamp downstairs. This is my first purchase of a smart plug, so I didn't know what to expect. I was just looking for a simple setup solution but wasn't looking to spend too much. I decided to give this product a go, despite not recognising the brand.First impressions when it arrived was the box size. It's a lot smaller than I predicted. Keep in mind, this is my first smart plug. Opening the box revealed the sleek device. I like how its rounded as many UK plug sockets tend to have a switch next to the socket which could get in the way of a bulky plug-in device. Luckily, this isn't an issue here. There also was a set-up manual in the box. This actually came in handy later on, when I was setting up the device and learning of the different pairing modes. I have attached a few images of the manual to this review (in English).Set-up wasn't difficult. Simple scan the bar-code on the back of the device sent my device to a page to download the required app (Or alternatively, you could just download "Smart Life" from the app/play store.) After plugging the device in, I followed the app instructions and instructions in the manual. You hold the power button on the device until the blue light starts blinking rapidly. Following the app directions, it will then pair the device to your Wi-Fi network and allow you to control the app on/off, even if you're on a mobile network away from home!Upon setup, I was prompted to create a cloud account to enable integration with Alexa or Google Assistant. This step can be skipped if you only wish to control the plug via the app. If you want integration with Alexa or google assistant, creating a free account is required. Upon some research, I found that this is due to Alexa/Google needing to communicate through an API to third-party smart-devices. This is likely a requirement to all third-party smart-devices due to the way this technology works. After realising that this smart-plug only needs an active internet connection to work once setup, I decided to set it up again. The difference in the setup I had made was I have now connected the device to my router's guest network, meaning the smart-plug only gets internet access and no access to LAN devices. The device works perfectly fine in the configuration, unlike some products that require internet AND local LAN access. I then created an account to get assistant integration working. After registering with my email (phone number registration is available too, but I prefer email), I linked it to my assistant (I have a google assistant but the process is likely similar/the same for Amazon Alexa) and the smart plug just worked straight away after linking the accounts. I can now use voice commands with my smart-home devices to control this smart plug, even with the smart plug only being allowed internet access by my router (no LAN access).Once you have the device set-up with your home assistant devices, you don't even need to keep the "Smart Life" app on your phone. You can safely uninstall it, and reinstall it whenever you wish to make changes to the device configuration or search for firmware updates.A feature I do like about the Smart Life app is that you can set a timer for the device to switch on/off (For example, you can set the device to stay on for X time and then turn off automatically as a one-off). You could even set schedules if you want the switch to repeat a timer/scheduled state on a daily basis. These features was a great benefit as I was only really expecting to be able to turn the switch on and off remotely. These features came as a bonus to me, and it's nice that you don't need to even be at home to adjust or set anything on this device via the Smart Life app.I wasn't keen on making an account to have assistant integration, but after some research on how this technology works, and the fact that this device doesn't care if you give it LAN access or not, I am confident that this product won't be able to misbehave on the network. The setup instructions were useful, and the setup itself was very easy. Having the choice on whether you wish to create an account or not for simple operation is was allowed me to give this the 5th star on this review. I like having the choice or at least the option to decline account-making when possible. I ended up making an account because I started to feel more comfortable in this product. I also originally wanted to just buy this device as a one-off for being able to remotely control a light, but I am now seriously considering ordering more of these due to the simplicity and the fact that it just seems to work. The time between tapping the app to turn the light on/off or asking the assistant to turn the light on/off to actually activating the light is very quick unlike some of the other products on the market that I have seen reviewed. Being able to also ask whether the socket is on or not is very good too as it means if you're not at home, you can check the app (either your smart-home app or the Smart Life app) and it will tell you if the socket is activated or not .Overall, after taking the price (£11.99 at the time of writing), my expectations, and the functionality this product was able to deliver, I would like to give this product a 5 star rating.

The lazy mans dream
Just installed this little smart plug, being a male of a certain age. I decided i wanted to turn power (without moving from the chair) on/off so i set it up which was pretty easy and plugged a atmospheric light into it.Connected Alexa and sat down, spoke amazon socket on (you can name it anything you want) hey presto light on. Dozing in my chair Alexa socket off! This can be achieved with most devices that you require to do this. I actually set it up where i could get to it easily (plug in front of me) then moved it under my table. All worked ok !So the conclusion is falling asleep in my chair, i don't have to wake myself up by getting up and turning the thing off. Its well worth a try.
