Water tight! Once you get it on...
HOW ITS MADE:The sleeve part is made of shower curtain weight vinyl which is connected to a plastic ring which holds a silicone ring/seal. The seal that goes around the arm is a soft silicone material. No assembly required. After about a month of use (showering every other day), while trying to get it on my fingernail poked a small hole in the seal, and on a separate occasion my cast tore the edge of the seal, yet it does not (yet) leak, though i suspect it may not last too much longer.CONS: Ouch!It is difficult to get on and can be painful if the break is new, it was easier a couple weeks in. You may need help at first, or, if you live alone and are stubborn like me, use one foot and the free hand to stretch the seal open far enough to slide the cast in. There have been days where my wrist was really sore and I could not stand to wrestling this thing on. It is not easy.My first cast was a plaster and ace bandage combo and the seal did not slide easily over this type of cast without messing up the bandages. My second cast was fiberglass and went over my elbow. The plastic ring that holds the seal was just barely large enough to make it over the bend. If you have a thick arm, this will not go over your elbow. The seal slides over the fiberglass pretty easy, but be careful of snagging and ripping the seal like i did. This was just barely long enough for me, but did cover the cast that went over my elbow if i made a fist with my hand.Seal was punctured and ripped after a month of use while trying to get the cast on (finger nail puncture and torn on fiberglass).I am a slender but tall female and the seal is really tight around my bicep but is not unbearable. It is so tight that after i ripped the edge of the seal it is still water tight (I guess that is a plus at least). There is a red mark on my arm when I remove it but it goes away quickly.PROS: Water tight!I can take the longest showers with my cast completely under the shower head and it does not leak. Even after the seal being punctured and torn, still does not leak. Although now that I am in my third cast (fiberglass) which is now (finally!) below my elbow, I may wrap the edge of my cast with a dry wash cloth just in case it starts to. With only 2 weeks of wearing a cast left, I do not want to buy this product again. A little bit of condensation does form around my fingers, but is nothing to worry about. It has kept my casts dry and from stinking. It did not leak in the bath either, but I did not completely submerge my arm over the seal. I suspect it would not leak, but didn't want to risk it and possibly ruin my cast.Overall I am satisfied, though it is not perfect. Will buy another cast cover if I break another bone at some point.

INGENIOUS
This is an incredibly clever product! It is a GREAT way to get a shower or bath without having to worry about ruining your cast/splint. It is well made and can be used multiple times - as long as you're not too rough with it.The only reason I did not give this product 5 stars is that it did not work for my daughter who has elbow surgery. The top portion of the protector was not wide enough to go around the elbow portion of the splint.

Showering while casted now possible
I had a broken wrist and a cast from my hand, up my arm. This device allowed me to take a shower and even bathe without getting the cast wet. My only complaint is that the rubber was way too tight where you first put in your arm. It was like a tourniquet - I had to make cuts in it, so that it still made a seal, but I didn't stop the blood in my arm!Otherwise, it was a great device, and definitely worked well.

Works Great!
This cast cover works great! I'ts hard to get on with one person, with two people/three hands it goes on easily. The gasket is very tight, as it should be. I have fairly scrawny arms, for a human male. If you have bigger arms, I expect it could be too tight. It goes the full length of my arm, and I'm 5 foot 8 inches, if that helps anyone on sizing.

Kept cast dry
After looking at many reviews and styles I decided to try this cast protector for my broken hand. I was a little concerned as I have a small arm. However, when I put it on, it was easy to get on and off and fit very tight. I hav been using it for two weeks now and have not had one leak. It is pretty long so if you have a long arm it should still workupdate: I just got my cast off. I used this for 6 weeks without one leak. The cast protector still looks like it is brand new. I carefully stored it back in it's box, heaven forbid, for if it ever has to be used again.

Great for kid in a cast
We bought this for my five year old son who has a full arm cast. Although this is marketed as a short arm cover for adults, it's the perfect size for a child's full arm. The silicon opening is tight, so it might not work for bigger kids, but the tightness of the seal is great and hasn't let any water seep in. We cover the cast in a long soccer sock first, which helps the protector slide on and prevents it from getting scratched or ripped by the fiberglass of the cast. We have been using it for several weeks now and it still looks like brand new. This is much simpler to use than trash bags and duct tape and is well worth the money.

Started out terrific!
This arm cast cover was very useful!! It slid onto my arm and created a tight fitting seal so that no water got into it. After four uses, I saw that water had gotten inside of it. After inspecting the seal, I found that it had opened up in one small area. I applied tape to seal it up and have continued to use it. the tape loosens after each use and has to be replaced before the next use. I would have given it 5 stars, but because it had an issue - I only gave it 3 stars.

Great service and great cast cover.
The service was great and I received this item in a very timely manner. This cast cover fits very well over my arm with no leakage. I do make sure to pull the opening a good inch or two above the edge of the cast. And I also wipe the excess water off the cast cover with a hand towel before taking it off. It is a snug fit around the opening and it will leave a mark on your arm but it has to to insure no water gets inside. So far, I am very happy with this item.

Perfect
Perfect cast cover for my teenage son, who broke his arm and was in a full arm cast. Kept it very dry, easy to use one handed, good quality.

Brilliant
I had minor op on arm and was not to get wound wet for 3 weeks. This sleeve was fantastic. I swim daily and my arm stayed dry. Must say I am not a skinny person and fit was good.

comfy and easy to slip on
did what it promised ie fitted secure/snug, so could take a shower without fear of the pot getting wet. East to put on and could be used over and over - did feel dubious about this, but is was excellent

Protected my plaster cast extremely well
This product enabled me to enjoy a shower not having to worry about getting plaster cast wet. Only problem I found was armhole very tight, ok if you have slim arms, otherwise was quite uncomfortable, but does the job extremely well.
