My daughter just enrolled in her stem program her school opened up this year and while they've been giving her small projects to work out, we ordered this for her so she could work on something a little more challenging. This was the perfect gift because as soon as she opened it, she was thrilled beyond words. I did sit with her to help her sort out the pieces and make sure everything was there that was supposed to be to help her put this together, which everything was. Other than that, I only sat with her at the table for the just in case she needed help. However, she was able to put this together all by herself. There were a few times she got a little stuck but she would stop and re-read the instructions and that seemed to help. After an hour or so, she had the whole thing built. We left it out in direct sunlight before using. Even though you do need to use a battery with it, she wanted to make sure the solar panel worked. Once charged, she was outside playing with this for hours. I love that she was able to put this together herself and that it comes with everything needed to put this together. No extra tools were needed because it really does come with everything. Great for kids who are into building or are in a stem club in their school. After reading the instructions myself, they are worded perfect for kids to understand and love that they are truly geared towards kids.

My girl wanted another stem so I found this one, hopeful to challenge her more this time. Out of the box, this one is made really well, and has the higher number of parts I was looking for. All the parts are stought and can take some abuse on assembly without breaking. Came complete with all of the parts after comparing to make sure all was there. This one came with a really nice solar panel and electric motor, where this one should work great outdoors. No cons, my girl loves these, where I am very happy with the purchase.

I have to say I don’t really dislike this item that much and it’s not bad to buy it for that price . If your kids are over 8 or 10 years old , they might feel okay . Compared with other toy instructions , this one is more like a compact version with lots of steps together in just one page .

I ordered this as a warehouse deal, which I understand means the box will come battered and previously opened. I assumed (I know, I know) that this meant all necessary parts would still be included. One of the kits was missing a motor, the battery holder, and the instructions! All kind of crucial to making the item work.

This toy is not giftable, it's very difficult to assemble, it has very poor instruction quality. I gave it to my nephew as a Christmas' gift and he had a terrible experience. He found broken cables, uneven plastic parts, non-standard plastic lines or holes, etc, etc, etc. If I could rate this product with negative stars I would do it.

Please do not order this product. I waited over a year to give it to my kid and all it created was frustration. The instructions are near impossible to understand and the parts are so poorly machined that getting the multiple components to align and fit would require clamping and at least 3 people. I encouraged him to keep trying but we ultimately gave up on this because it was not designed well. Maybe in the future the company would adjust the simplicity of the pieces or the instructions but, for now, don’t waste your time or money

Truly a cool toy. Chain arrangement is a visual treat to my 5 year old. It does climb couple of inches!Reasonably robust and worth having it in my grand son's solar toy family !

Bought this as a goody bag stuffer for some teenage boys. They loved it!
