Elastic is nice instead of Velcro. Great value for an item to be worn once OT twice a year!

When I received my Tam it was clearly worn prior. There were spots all over the top and where the tassel attached in the middle center there was hot glue all around. Shipping took over a week and a half to arrive so not enough time to get a new one!The actual hat itself was nice and the velvet was plush I just wished it would brand new when I got it.

Ordered this cap for a grad school reunion, where we are to march in the graduation ceremony of existing students. The cap is made of heavy velvet and appears to be well made. My only complaint is that the cap allows for only limited size adjustment, and I am a larger guy who wears an XL hat, so the cap barely fits but feels rather tight, and uncomfortably snug. If it were just a tad larger or more adjustable, I would give this an easy 5 stars, but for someone with a smaller head, this cap is a good find for graduate level cap and gown events.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this item. I had previously spent hundreds of dollars to purchase regalia tams that didn’t look nearly as good as this one. It does have an elastic portion in its band to keep the tam in place on your head. I was worried that the elastic might be uncomfortable, but I wore it for quite some time and entirely forgot that it was on my head. However, I’m a woman with a normal size head. If you have a large head or lots of hair, it is likely not going to fit. There was no sizing available for this tam and it’s definitely made for medium sized heads. But the quality and the price definitely can’t be beat.

My old mortarboard graduation cap was damaged by a sudden rain storm during last years commencement exercises, so I have been in the market for a new one for the upcoming commencement ceremonies. This cap fits snuggly, but not too tight, and gives me a different look than the old flat top cap I have worn for years. I look forward to donning the cap with my gown in a couple of months. This is the replacement cap I needed!

This feels very thin, the velvet material feels brittle and doesn't look good when closer than 100 feet. The wrinkles from packing stay put, almost impossible to get out, and it is overall disappointing. The tassel come crumpled as well, and just like the velvet, doesn't really come out. A few more bucks would likely get you a much better quality tam.

I got this for inspiration for my son and myself. Education is paramount to us and this tam represents where we are going. This is a quality item, good quality velvet, well-made. Good fit, but a little tight for thick hair.

I needed a velvet tam that wasn't going to break the bank like the one my university was charging for. This tam is very nice with the velvet feel, but its quality is also very reflective of its cost. The fit and overall appearance is good. However, the only part I don't like is the tassel, which is thin, completely glued down in two spots, off-centered, and is much shorter than most standard ones. I could fix this by just getting another tassel and replacing the one it came with, but it'd be easier if it was a decent tassel to begin with. Overall, you get what you pay for, which isn't necessarily bad.
