Delicious, holds memories, wait till on sale
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Where have you been in the stores? These were just as great as I remember, and as most items over the last 20 to 30 years it seems they have shrunk in size. Absolutely delicious and when on sale is a great value. The rich peppermint flavor is still there and is delectable as ever.

An economical solution for peppermint patties
If you like the 'sensation' of York peppermint patties I've found this to be the most economical way to get your peppermint patty 'fix'. So far I have only ordered them when the weather is cool as I worry about them melting on the way... and so far I've been well pleased with the freshness and quality of the product while saving no small amount versus buying the equivalent amount in smaller bags locally.

A classic that always hits the spot
This is one of my favorite candies. The combo of chocolate and mint can't be beat. There are several candies that use the same combo, but York has nailed the mint better than anyone else. It's refreshing without having too much of a bite, and the sweetness level is just right. The box has a flap that can be folded out to serve as a dispenser, which is convenient. The candies arrived in perfect, fresh condition. If you like chocolate and mint, it's hard to find something better than a Peppermint Patty. Five stars.

Healthy snack
Dark chocolate and peppermint oil are healing and regenerate stem cells. Lots of sugar so eat in moderation but these are actually very good for you and heart healthy.

Honest review - Yorkshire Mints are tasty and cheap, but bad for you.
Read for more info! The box is bigger than I expected but also good - we're talking 12" x 6" x 5.5", with an included undertab you pull out so it auto-dispenses mints for you. The directions are on the box so you'll get it once you see the box.The mints themselves are good for yorkshire peppermint patties - maybe because they are fresher than the store-bought. However, they are NOT good for you. Make no mistake, you are buying a mass-produced food product with a focus on quantity over quality. It tastes good, but that also means it comes at the cost of extremely cheap ingredients.Distributed by Hershey Company in Hershey PA - manufactured in Mexico (that would explain the cheapness). You get 175 pcs individually wrapped for $18, which about comes out to $.12/pcs.The price is $.21/oz, as this is a 84 oz (5lbs 4 oz) container for $18. The price is acceptable, but the appalling lack of nutrients means this a coping food - not a staple product you should be enjoying on a regular basis. If you are rich enough to buy them, then you are rich enough to make them, so just make your own. Your body will thank you later.READ INGREDIENTS BEFORE BUYING:______________________________For every two mints you eat, you have:Calories: 100(Daily value%)Total fat 2g - 3%CholesterolSodium 10 mg - 0%Total carbohydrate 22g - 8%Protein <1g___________Vitamin D 0mg (I don't know why this is on there)Calcium 0mg (like, if it doesn't exist, why put it there???)Iron .8 mg (4%) (also, men usually don't need daily iron)Potassium 30mg (0%)_____Ingredients: Sugar, corn syrup, chocolate, cocoa, invert sugar (somebody look up what this is), milk fat, egg whites, cocoa butter, lecithin (soy emulsifying agent - this is not a health ingredient and it causes neurological deterioration in large amounts or ingested over long periods of time - see "problems of Linoleic acid" for more info), oil of peppermint (you can make this using peppermint extract, as well), PGPR (Polyglycerol polyricinoleate, a castor-bean based replacement for chocolate that reduces chocolate viscocity - this is bad for your gut health, do not use in foods), and "natural flavor" (we all love when they add cryptic messages, don't we?)Contains: Milk, eggs, soy.___________________________Don't use this box around the holidays, people: You can easily make your own healthy candies using free online recipes! They only need a filling that gets chilled and dipped in chocolate before they are ready. The basic filling is a combination of powdered sugar, water (could use milk, but tends to spoil easily so only for small batches), some peppermint extract, some lemonade (or lemon juice - do NOT use lemon concentrate or you risk ruining the flavor), and some vanilla extract to smooth the flavor (vanilla is optional). Look it up yourselves and try it - use these store-boughts for on-the-go or emergencies. And do not feed them to kids. Not unless you are giving them fish supplements or DHA+EPA supplements regularly. The beauty of the peppermint patty knockoffs you can produce yourselves is that you can substitute the extract for _anything_ you want instead! I made maple-filled chocolate patties and also orange-filled chocolates that more or less matched the gourmet feeling I was looking for - and you can do the same!Don't satisfy yourselves with the mediocrity of a popular commodity - shoot for the sense of accomplishment and make your own gourmet rarities (or oddities). You will, if nothing else, appreciate these ready-made mints when you are done. Now go add those ingredients to your lists before the next seasonal holyday!

Wonderful After-Dinner Chocolate Mints
In all of my years on Earth, I've never eaten a York Peppermint Patty. For some reason the idea of chocolate and mint turned my stomach and made me feel sick. As a young teen, my big sister bought me chocolate/mint candy for Christmas and it hurt her so much when I was grossed out of the idea of eating them. Since then I tried hard to get used to eating chocolate and mint. I started with plain mint candies, moved on to mint tea and a few decades later I was eating an After-Eight mint once in a blue moon. Another decade passed and I got a hankering to try these York's. Bought 2 boxes and was going to learn to love them. No problem, I love these things! This is over 5 pounds of candy! It has a convenient opening in the box so you can open and close it easily, and grab a candy when you want. It would be great for office (or home) settings. I took my first candy and looked at it. It hasshiny silver Mylar around the candy and notches to easily tear the packet open. It's dark chocolate coated, about the size of a silver dollar and about 4 quarters thick. I took my first bite, the inside mint part is white, firm yet soft (not liquidy or oozy like other types of chocolate covered mints I've had), and the candy melts in your mouth. These are addictive and the mint is perfect -- Although I would like if they could make an extra mint flavor as well. One is good, two is delightful and three will fill you up; any more than that and it's over-kill (ask me how I know). I love these in the evening after dinner. They are refreshing and seems to settle my stomach after the evening meal.I wasn't sure how others would like these but one night I brought a bundle to Bible study class and everyone LOVED them...they were gone really fast. Those 2 boxes are going quickly and I just ordered 2 more. They are a nice treat to bring as a gift or to hand out to others. Make sure you keep enough for yourself.
