Yes it helps to keep them busy. If they start chewing and you notice any holes take it away.i have been breeding German Shepherds for 19 years and use this for the young puppies

Q: Is it heavy, I want it for my rat terrier to push around not to throw. He likes to push things with his nose. Any other suggestions

He should love it! Heavy enough, but not too heavy to push around with nose or paws.

Q: Since it’s hard plastic, when it gets banged up, would it scratch wood floors being chased around the house?

I have wood floors though I’m not sure about scratching the floors - the noise is too much for me and the dog pushes the egg with such energy - inside use is not recommended by me.

Q: So why is the purple 12 in egg 35.00 when the others are at least half that price?

The other is almost at the same price if you add shipping cost. It shows less because the shipping cost is not mentioned in the listing you can check it. FYI Merchants fulfilled (FBM) the other two items so the item delivery time is delayed from the Purple.
