He loves it
He love it, the only thing the chain popped in two days. I reached out to the company and they mailed another one for free

Bad wheel bearing
Left rear wheel bearing destroyed, noticed when the rear chain came off. Less than 8 hours of use.

motor
Frame is well made. Motor could be better. Doesn't like to stay running if you shut it down and restart it soon after. Also make sure your front end is aligned. Mine was not.

Great Cart. You will need some tools.
Update after a year. Great little Go Cart. Nice and strong enough for my 7 and Ten year old, but this little 2.5hp struggles with anyone over 115lbs.It runs the standard Honda engine clone and we get about 15 to 20 mph out of it… more than enough. It’s low to the ground, but will roll if not careful. The only negative so far was found while assembling the cart. There were some missing nuts and bolts. Most problematic was the missing bolt and nut for the stirring-shaft-to-frame. Nothing that a trip to the hardware store couldn’t fix.The assembly was simple and should be easy for anyone with the right tools. You will need a socked set, wrenches and impact driver…or spend time wishing you had more tools. We clocked my 7 year old blasting around the yard at 20mph, so I fabricated and welded on an extra roll cage. The seat belt are worthless and so I added a five point harness. Just a personal safety choice….I would recommend to anyone who doesn’t mind putting things together…it’s a strong cart for kids.

Be prepared to fix it yourself within the first 30 minutes of riding it
The first one we purchased, the chain fell off and got lost within 30 minutes. We purchased another one and the throttle cable loosened with 10 minutes of use. Neither one is major, but definitely an inconvenience when it happens so quickly on a new machine.

Great go cart!!!
I brought this go cart in August for my grandson's 8th birthday. He has been riding it daily for a month. We have 4 acres to ride on and his dad takes him out on blm land trails and follows him in his utv. The go cart has gotten a lot of miles on it without any problems. The oil has been changed and the chain tightened, but that is all.Update in November: The rear bearings fell apart, so I bought better ones at an auto parts store. The clutch went out on the gocart, but Mototec replaced it because it is still under warranty. BUT... I had to pay $18 for shipping. Now the rear tires have failed. First, one got a leak, then the other one got a big bulge in it. I've purchased heavier duty new tires for it. My grandson still loves his gocart. It has required some upgrades, but it is still a nice gocart.

Had problems with wire connecting gas pedal and chain falling off
Grandson is 60 lbs. fit him perfect and was also fine for my 5 foot granddaughter. The ride was great. Not too hard to put together but we’ve had a lot of problems with the chain falling off and the wire connecting to the gas pedal had to be adjusted every 3 or 4 rides. Motor starts right up.
