You’ll need to do some prep work.Noise - yes, it’s loud. Not as loud as a vacuum cleaner or someone drilling, nor is it as annoying. It’s a moderate level of ‘pleasant’ white noise. On a hot night, I would choose noise and be cool any day! The best way to describe it, is it’s like running a tower fan on high with an old fridge whirring away in the same room. If you want whisper quiet operation, I can highly recommend a fully fitted split AC system which I have at home. You’ll use it more than you think.Installation - As mentioned, this is not plug and play. There’s a hose that emits the hot air that’s being removed from the room. The best way to get rid of it is through the wall. This involves taking at least a 100mm core drill and fitting a standard cooker hood vent kit. This will provide the best efficiency, as AC always works best when all outside windows and doors are closed. Alternatively you can hang the hose out of the window using various sealing kits that are available.Sound like a lot of hassle? Well it kind of is, but someone competent can do this in 30 mins or so. If you’re tossing and turning all night, or you’re spending your days feeling hot and bothered then you will be motivated to do this.Efficiency - Running at around 1.3kw, it’s neither frugal nor an energy guzzler. You’ll be happy to pay the electric bill to stay cool. Wall vent heat extraction will help keep costs to a minimum.Conclusion - this portable AC unit works, and for that reason I have to give it 5 stars. It’s neat, the controls are well thought out and the WiFi app is easy to set up and use.However, based on reviews of other units, the main problem is managing your expectations rather than the unit being faulty/ineffective etc. You’ll need to be flexible as to where it goes. Either by a window or an exterior wall. You’ll need to consider creating an extraction vent. You’ll need to accept that 2 fans and a compressor running all in the same unit inside your house is going to create some noise.If like me you’re fed up of struggling every summer, I would highly recommend a fully fitted unit. Yes, that would be triple the cost, but it will be whisper quiet, use 30% of the energy this uses, and will last many many years. Your home will also be very desirable should you wish to sell.If having a professionally installed unit isn’t possible, this unit is still a lot better than being hot.

Cannot fault the air condition. It really cools the room down. Only negative it is quite noisy but to cool a room down in hot weather I can suffer a bit of noise. The wife is over the moon due to hot flushes

The media could not be loaded. As other reviews have said it's noisy, but when it turns my 30° living room into 20° living room it's worth it and I'm venting the hose out if a Juliette balcony door without a seal. I haven't had to drain it yet so can't comment on whether or not that will be easy.The app and Alexa controls were fairly easy to set up and work.

So pleased with this air con unit at keeping our room cool, esp in our hot summers. It isn't as noisy as others we have had. Would buy another

This unit is advertised as working with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.This is not the case.Downloaded the cheap Chinese copy app as instructed, but Alexa does not support it.Item also arrived cracked and had the compressor hanging out the bottom.

Although advertised as also being an air filterer, no HEPA filter is included in the purchase. No problem I though when I discovered this, I'll buy one. In fact it appears it is a problem. I have written to the company at least four times, no response. I have used their site to ask when they will be in stock, nothing. I have telephoned several times. On one occaision they actually answered the phone and assured me that filters were due in soon, since then nothing, they do not answer the phone. So, it is not possible to use this as an air filterer. It works ok as air conditioner although it can be a bit noisy.
