The chain is plastic. This is a $15 necklace. Not a $40 necklace. It does not look like real gold it looks plastic.

Love the weight of the hardware ball but the clasp is already starting to turn dark brass and I have only had it for one day. Overall, love the necklace and hoping the rest of the chain doesn’t turn brassy as time goes on.
