Bennett 1812EIC Hydraulic Trim Tab Set with Electronic Indicator Control - 18" x 12"

I replaced existing Bennett tabs that were very old and outdated. I upgraded to new style with auto retract. I had only a few holes to drill out. The messy part is adding the hydraulic fluid ( transmission fluid) to the pump. small hole to add almost a quart of fluid into. I'd fill it up on workbench before hand, instead of filling after install. Check all your fitting to make sure they are machined properly. I had a issue with one part (brass elbow) that was not drilled out and caused me 4 hours of troubleshooting. Finally realized that the fitting wasn't drilled. Swapped it out with one of my older ones and everything started working properly. SO check all your hoses and fittings ahead of time.

Made a world of difference on my 99 Stingray 240, look good as well.

I always liked Bennett hydraulic trim tabs and this time is no different. The pipe thread nipples that go through the transom could stand to be longer though. Maybe they could supply two different lengths with the kit. They were barely long enough in my case. Especially since you have to hold them from turning while threading on the inside fittings. Also, the display default on the indicator is nighttime mode so you always have to change it in the daytime before it can be seen. Annoying but not a deal breaker.

Wish I got these trim tabs years ago.

I am disappointed by the quality of the electronic indicator within the actuator itself. I paid extra to have the indicators and the starboard side indicator does not work from the manufacture. Now I have to get a replacement actuator which means pulling it all back apart. Luckily the trim tabs still work with out the indicator and they have made a huge improvement on the handling of the boat. They helped coming up on plane and smoothed the ride in rough water. Had I received a functioning part originally they would have received 5 stars.
