Excellent Reel! Easy to setup and light for inshore fishing. Will see how durable it is down the road and I do rinse it off and the rods with fresh water after each outing. Loving this reel and the 150 SV TW.Update:9/23/20 - After about a dozen bay outings my reel was making some noise so decided to open her up and check it out. I rinse my all gear after every outing and my drag is tight when doing so, however, after opening up the reel the cover on the handle side had quite a bit of dried salt in it like an 1/8 of a teaspoon. It looks like someone had this reel before me and dumped in the ocean for a Youtube test or something. It was supposed to be a new reel. All well that ends well!I examined the reel down to the main gear and removed and cleaned it and cleaned and lightly greased the drag washers and put it back together. The drag feels much more smooth and the noise is gone. The main gear looked used and abused but I cleaned it up the best I could. The magnet side wasn't bad at all. Seems better then when I first got it specially, the drag system.

The Coastal TW is a unique class of its own. Dedicated to saltwater fishing, it is a bit larger in size, holding significantly more drags, casting much further than any of my baitcasters by at least 30-40 feet, with a pair of handle knob which is easy to work with. It also looks gorgeous, pairing up nicely with Okuma Nomad Inshore Travel Rod.My only complaint so far is the brake. Placed in the top left side of the reel, it is so easy to adjust that your palm or hands would have easily "adjusted" it unintentionally by a few degrees while casting without you noticing, which affect your casting distance if you are unaware.

I've been looking at these for awhile to put on a Dobyns Fury 795SB to throw swimbaits and top water chuggers. So far I am very impressed. I loaded the Spool with heavy braid, tied on a Whopper Plopper 110. I wasn't able to find the lowest brake setting. As it was I was reaching 50 yards across the pond and had to thumb the spool to keep from hitting land on the far side. It seemed a bit noisy casting, but it was a super smooth reeling in. The large knobs are awesome. At 1/2 the price of a Tranx, I am super happy with it. 4 Stars until I land a fish with it, find the low end brake setting, and throw a larger lure like a Spro BBZ-1. I'll edit after I have.

Years ago, I had several old Diawa Pro Tournament series reels and I loved them and their magnetic casting control especially when changing weight and type of lures... I jumped on the Shimano Curado bandwagon and still have several of the old SuperFree's... They are great reels... I saw this one while doing some new real searching and decided to give it a try... All I can say is WOW! This is the smoothest casting slick winding and fish fighting reel of this class that I have ever had! I will sell my old Curados after a bit more hours with this reel. Am about to order another one. Daiwa has THE BEST magnetic cast control of all the major brands. When you change to a heavier weight lure, just a couple clicks up on the magnetgic control and rare back and let it rip for loooooong casting with zero over runs!Update as of 4/29/19This is my 4th purchase of this item. I have converted all my saltwater set ups over from old Curado Superfree reels to this reel... This reel is especially good for fishing (I mostly wade fish) when you have to cast directly into the wind... Anti-backlash control system is the best I've ever used.

This is the best casting reel I have ever used. It is basically the same exact reel as far as gears, and internal parts as the Tatula 200. The only difference is the coating or finish of the reel and different handle. I think Diawa misrepresents the line capacity on their reels but all in all great reels with the TWing and Magforce breaking system. Casts light baits really far. The only thing I wish was different is the gear size. This is supposed to be a saltwater reel and the gears are the same size as the Tatula 200. I wish the gears were thicker or beefier with another drag disc. This is just nit picking though it’s a phenomenal reel

There are many reasons why I bought this reel. The ability to handle freshwater and saltwater are a huge plus, along with the T wing system. This reel far exceeded my expectations.I originally purchased a Shimano Curdao, as I am a die hard Shimano fan. The Curado was defective straight out of the box, so in frustration, I decided to try different brands of reels. I purchased a Revo STX, Diawa Coastal, and a Kast King. I can honestly say that this reel is my favorite out of all of those reels. Once it is dialed in, I do not experience any backlash or issues with casting distance. It just feels right cast after cast and I find myself using this as my main reel. Out of all of the reels that I have purchased, I would buy this one again before any of the others. I just recently purchased a Diawa Zillion SV TW which is considerably more expensive than the Coastal and I still find that the Coastal is still my favorite from casting to retrieve.
