I followed a previous reviewer and also went to the Home Depot for the nearly finished 74" x 39 " birch butcher block. I'm so glad I did. I had thought about cutting the desk down, but I have the space to spare for where the desk will sit. The desk is sturdy, even at my preferred standing height (I'm 5'11) and has my 49" monitor on an arm mounted to the back.The butcher block was easy to work with. I opted to sand it up to 220, but it was already at a 180 or 200 finish when purchased. I then put on 3 coats of mineral oil. I was liberal with the mineral oil, just throwing a gob on the desk and spreading it around at each coat. Let it dry for approximately 30 minutes to an hour between coats. I then grabbed some cutting board wax which is a mix of caranuba and beeswax combined with a scent I find pleasing. This seals up the butcher block well enough for desk use, and gives it a nice dark hue.The desk legs were straight forward in assembly. It's a lot of measuring twice to make sure everything is properly lined up. I have the middle extension at it's maximum to support the desk and it seems fine. There are two screws on each side that connect the support wings to the legs. These need blue lok-tite because the natural weight I'll put on the desk can make it rock back and forth and loosen the screws. If those aren't extremely tight it becomes fairly obvious. A third screw underneath those two (making a triangle) would of gone a long way in helping to fight that sway. If the screws are tight there's no issue though and I can rest an elbow on the desk without worry or back and forth sway.Overall I'm really happy. For about $450 all in I have a butcher block standing desk that holds my 49" monitor. I am getting near the weight limited posted on the motor, so I'll be interested to see how this stands up for more than just two weeks.2 Month Update: The stand up desk continues to stand up. Boring update, I know. Sometimes the axle makes a grindy sound on the way down. Grindy isn't the right word. It's more of a reverberating vibration sound? Nothing appears to be actually grinding in a harmful way, and it's only occasional which makes me think it's because of where the position of the axle was before descending.10 Month Update: Nothing to report. Desk still operates great.

I love this electric adjustable desk frame. It works beautifully. Very quiet and smooth. The heights it adjust to are vast. One of the biggest surprises of this motorized desk frame is how easy it was to assemble. It took less that 30 minutes and even came with all the tools if you don't have any. I also love how heavy the frame is as it really alludes to it's durability. Fantastic product. I will buy this again for my wife and kids.

Solid stand with ability to customize the table top. I picked a narrow butcher block from BOOS. Assembly was a breeze with clearly marked and packaged pieces. Shipping was fast. Very study and well built electric table! Adjustable width table tops of any kind can be used. Missing is a built in power strip which is a nice-to have. No brainer purchase.

Purchased this base and a 48" butcher block to use on top. I'm working from home 90% of the time and needed something better than the child sized desk I had been using. This desk is amazing! Easy to assemble and works flawlessly (I've been using it for about two months now). Also very sturdy, even when lifted. I was worried that at this price point, I'd be sacrificing quality, but that is not the case at all. Very happy with my purchase!

Overall, I am pleased with this product, instructions were easy to follow and didn’t take too long to put together. That being said, I feel like they could’ve maybe moved one of the steps earlier in the building process.

There is only good to report about this purchase.1. The quality of the metal, the weight, the build, the packaging, the design, the motor and switch.2. I really couldn't believe the quality this item has built in for what I paid for them, I built two desk for my shop/studio area. When I make another one I will use this same brand again, I can not say enough about how impressed I am with this product.3. I don't usually do to many reviews, but actually felt obligated to take the time and write this review because of the extreme measures this manufacture took to design a make a great piece of equipment.4. The build handles the butcher block style top I installed with ease and now I know it can handle a larger desk top for my next build. If this was manufactured in China, it was a company that gets it. GREAT PRODUCT
