Good-quality and fresh
Dong Quai has been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese medicine. It is often used to help with the treatment of asthma, high blood pressure, rheumatic pains, dry constipation, insomnia and fatigue. It is also referred to "female ginseng" to support common women’s conditions including premenstrual, menstrual and menopausal symptoms. I mainly use it for circulation and fatigue, and it seems to be helpful. This wild harvested Dong Quai root powder appears to be fresh and of good quality. It has an intense, distinguishing aroma with a sweet and pleasant taste. You can use this as a dietary supplement (about 1/4 tsp) by itself, or add it to soups and dishes. Sometimes I like to make Dong Quai root tea by infusing it in boiling water. Though it is an acquired taste since the flavor is distinct and intense.Overall, this is a good-quality Dong Quai root powder sourced and made in Japan. All natural and non-GMO. I'm glad I gave it a try. Good product.

Seems to be higher quality than other brands tried-large supply and fresh-smooth and easy to drink
I have been taking Dong Quai on and off for several years for a variety of reasons. Dong Quai has been a beneficial supplement. I ordered the wild harvest Dong Quai root powder by Holistic Bin to see if the quality would replace my current brand. There isn't a large of a variety of different Dong Quai powders available and I like seeing a large supply like this.I did not realize that the wooden spoon in the product photos is actually provided! I really appreciate this gesture. I was using a metal spoon to take a little bit out until I found this. This spoon provides a better estimate of how much powder to use.The powder has tasted best in apple juice. I notice a feeling of relaxation and calm after I drink some of the powder in juice. It has not completely relieved headache pain or menstrual pain due to a cycle but I will continue to take it to see if it smooths out the pain over time. In various articles I have read, it is described to have anti-aging and libido restoring abilities. I am eager to see if this brand has any of these benefits. I have taken it a few times a week over the last month to get acclimated to it and will continue to take it with more regularity. It tastes and seems like it is better quality than my previous brand. I will likely order this again.

Good quality and fragrant. Comes with wood spoon. Wish it came with a label/instructions.
This Wild Harvested Dong Quai Root Powder Extract has a fragrant aroma and strong taste, and I have been adding it to things like my soups. It has a spicy flavor that I like, but it's not something I would say, just dissolve into water and drink down. It needs to be mixed up with something substantial. That said, you can easily add it to juice or smoothies, or sprinkle it over your food for extra flavor and kick. I've been needing to up my iron levels and found this to be an easy way to do so (I am vegan), so I'm happy overall with the quality. I like that it comes with a little wooden spoon, but wish it had instructions and labels included with it. It also comes with a resealable bag to keep it fresh when you're storing it. Depending on what you're looking for, YMMV.

Fresh with vanilla-sandalwood type smell
I use this powder in tea for arthritis and insomnia, two of the numerous reasons people take it whether in capsules or tea. It feels quite rich to have so much to make tea out of it. And the taste, apart from the vanilla-sandalwood smell - it's from another world because it's so different, a kind of celery curry taste that's growing on me.The powder is clearly fresh, smelling fresh and celery-like. It's a plant that's not easy to harvest wild, growing high in mountains and in plenty of sunshine. But it prefers loose sandy soil, in the high, cold places. I've never seen the plant in person. But I do like this as tea and recommend it.

I like the quality of this product but it didn't work for me and is very bitter
During this stressful COVID time I started getting hot flashes. I read that this product might help so I was eager to try it. I do like the quality of this product and the ability to measure out what I need. Before buying this I also bought the capsule form. I liked the capsules better because this powder is very bitter. (But you get a lot more purchasing it in this bag form and so it saves you money.) However, neither worked for me but I thought this straight powder might be more concentrated and be more successful. This does not mean Dong Quai doesn't work. But just don't be too disappointed if you happen to be like me.

Awesome herb!
I use 1/4 teaspoon of this in my morning smoothie and it provides a very spicy kick! The best part though, is it helps me regulate my hormones, which I desperately need. This powder appears to be great quality with a strong smell and strong taste that leads me to believe it is fresh, it also has an expiration date, and is sealed in a bag inside a plastic wrap. There are no instructions are recommendations on how to use it, so if you are new you will need to get your info online, but the quality of the herb itself is excellent and I would reorder!

Good supplement
I read a bit about Dong Quai Root before trying it to see what the benefits are good for. I suffer from insomnia quite often enough for me to look into natural supplements. I have been putting this into my soups or tea and am finding that i am sleeping more sound. This is a pretty good size bag and should last me a while if you have never tried this kind of thing before it's well worth trying, good for anxiety too.

Tastes like chicken soup, didn't dissolve well, bamboo spoon buried in powder.
The smell and taste reminded me of chicken soup. It didn't dissolve well in my green tea, but it didn’t create an off flavor either. This is all one package, which I wouldn't normally have a problem with, but the package isn't resealable, and the bamboo spoon, a nice inclusion, was buried in the powder (at first I thought some of the powder had hardened into a lump). Glad to have tried it and will probably use it mostly in chicken soups.
