Cute and generally straightforward
We've had our windflyer alarm clock for about a month now. We bought it for our 1.5 year old mostly to use the "OK to Wake" function to help him learn to sleep in a bit. After several weeks of waking up before 5am, we wanted to try something new. Together with adjusting his naps and bedtime, I think the clock is really working! We set the 'sleep' mode to turn on at bedtime, and we could customize the brightness of the nightlight, and the volume and tone of the white noise. I also really like that you can adjust the brightness of the white light from the numbers and the face, although that has to be done manually every time and isn't part of the sleep mode setting. Our son has started saying "clock! clock!" every evening in anticipation of the sleep mode turning on and he definitely associates it with bedtime. In the morning, the white noise turns off and the red light turns green at a preset time, and lately the first thing he says to me when I come in is "CLOCK!" The directions are mostly clear and the settings seem easy to program. There were a few times that the white noise turned off a while after the sleep mode came on, and my partner and I had to have extended discussions about how we accidentally changed the settings, but I think we figured it out. The tricky part is if you want to start sleep mode or wake mode early, you're probably going to mess up your presets. A function that I would like to see is a button or switch to toggle sleep mode on and off outside of the preset times, because often bath takes a little longer, or he's extra sleepy and wants to go down ten minutes early, and that's always going to be an issue. There are also options to set naptime sleep/wake times, but I don't use those because, again, naptime is always a little bit different. It is easy to turn just the white noise on and off, though, so that's how I solve that problem.I think the Windflyer is great and it's serving our needs almost perfectly. I did not like the idea of needing to fiddle with bluetooth all the time for the Hatch clock because I'm trying to use my phone less around my toddler, not more. I really like that the volume and brightness on the Windflyer are easy to customize. I'll also add that I was concerned about white noise volume in a lot of similar products on the market, and the Windflyer falls safely within the recommended decibel range.

Cute, helpful
Update: it's been almost 3 years and this clock is still going strong. My kids usually don't mess with it but it has DEFINITELY been dropped/knocked off the shelf a few times. Still looks and performs like new. With a baby waking me up multiple times a night, I NEEDED the toddler (2.5) to stay in her room just a little longer in the morning so I could get some sleep. My toddler thinks the smile face and sleepy face are so cute. The winking every 30 seconds is fun too.She doesn't always abide by the face/light in the morning, but it certainly helps. It definitely makes bedtime easier, she gets so excited when she notices the face turn to sleep and the light turn red.The instructions were pretty easy to follow, it seemed overwhelming at first but once you start setting things it's actually pretty simple. I like that the controls on the bottom can be locked. It feels sturdy, though we do encourage our daughter not to touch it. There are features we do not use at this time, like alarm, lullabies, white noise, naptime, and playtime. When she is older we may use some.I got this clock on sale, and I believe it was worth that price, I don't think I would have paid full price. That being said, I hope this lasts for a very long time because I would hate to be without it now.

Works well, with a few quirks
This is the first and only okay-to-wake clock that we have tried. It works well, and my toddler loves it! It is fairly easy to program, and you can find videos on YouTube if you need help beyond the instruction manual. It features sleep mode, nap mode, and play mode, along with optional light and sound settings. I like that you can lock the display to prevent curious little ones from reprogramming things. The facial expression display is very cute, and my child likes that you can change the color of the display from the traditional red and green rings. Additionally, the clock is quite sturdy, which is great when your child occasionally succeeds in unplugging the clock and taking it for adventures.I have noticed several quirks (very specific, nit-picky details), which prevent me from giving this product a full five stars:- The nap mode offers times of 15, 30, 60, 90, and 180 minutes. I frequently find myself wishing for a 120 minute option, which would better align with my toddler's nap habits. This seems like a large oversight in the programming, especially since a 15 minute timer is too short to constitute a nap. This is my biggest criticism.- The nap mode does not automatically activate the lighted ring on the display, so every time you activate nap mode, you have to manually turn on the light.- Also in nap mode, if you turn on the light mode, the light only turns to "wake" mode (green ring) for 10 minutes after the timer has ended. This would be nice to have on a little bit longer (30 minutes), so if your child sleeps a little longer than expected they aren't upset that the clock didn't turn green.- In sleep mode (or wake mode), the lighted ring stays green for 2 hours, which is excessive. A shorter time (30-60 minutes) seems more appropriate.

A great multifunctional training/learning clock.
We love this clock because of its many functions. We use green for when it’s time to get up and red for bed time along with the music. When the clock turns on for bed, our 3 & 2 year old knows it is time for bed and without trouble they now go to bed. They wait until the light is green in the mornings before getting up. We use to have issues with the children getting up at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00, 6:30am. That is now a thing of the past because of this wonderful clock. We also use this clock for many different things. If one of the children need a “break”, or lay in the bed for a long “Time out” because they are a little more cranky than normal, we put the light on red and set the time for the amount needed. Once the light goes out the children know they can get up. Most times it results in a nap. >>win<<During homeschool we use the calming blue light to show it’s time for learning and a time to focus. The multicolor constant changing is for play time.Does this mean we are always changing the light? Yes, however, it has helped a great amount in behaviors, easier bed time and a no fuss time out.The clock also has the eyes and face separate from the clock face and numbers. Which makes it much easier to read and it is not confusing to the children. The lights have different levels of brightness. The music has different levels of sound. This is a great feature because at night you can make the music and the light a little softer.I recommend this clock for anyone looking for a multi use alarm clock, a teaching clock, or a training clock and well worth the price.Any individual will not be disappointed in this clock.

This little clock changed my life!!
Our son, who is 2.5 had never slept through the night until we got the Windflyer toddler trainer alarm clock. This mama was exhausted from getting up at least twice a night, every night, and nursing him back to sleep. 2.5 years, people! When we got this clock, our son named it "Songly", for reasons I do not know, but the personification of this gadget made it click in his mind. I explained that when Songly is red, he is sleeping, and he (our son) should be sleeping, too. The other rule was no nursing while he's red, but as soon as he turns green, he can nurse, get up, play, etc.. I am not kidding you, he slept through the night the very first night! I decided to reward him with a small lego kit for doing so and of course lots of big cheers and hugs. The next night he did wake up once, and now every once in a while he will wake up to pee or for some other reason, but IF he asks to nurse back to sleep I just remind him of the rule (no nursing until Songly is green) and he rolls over and goes back to sleep.I have the lighting set to the very dimmest, and I also have it set for the white noise (quietest setting) and it goes all night until it turns green. I love that it stays green for an hour or more after the set wake up time in case he sleeps later, he can still see that he has met his goal, and I love the overall design. Nice tacky little feet that are slip proof and can sit on his footboard without falling off.Just all around magical. If we go anywhere, ever, Songly is coming with us. It is soooo nice to finally be getting consecutive hours of sleep!!

Love this! Easy Set up! Quality Item!
I bought this clock to help my grandson who is 2 to start learning the concept of time. He was having some night time wake ups @ 3 am. I read about the features on this clock and loved that it had a training mode using colors. Since Lucas already knows red is for stop and green is go I use these colors to help him if he wakes up, and also to know when we are ready to be rocked when it turns red. This will be a great device as he gets older and we can switch to alarms. He doesn't want the sound option at night, but it is a feature that is great. I would definately use the ocean option if it were in my room. I love that there is a brightness contol, as we like a very small amount of light in his room. I have to add that the ease of set up for this clock is great! Easy instructions to follow and remember for adjustments. Video instructions are available also! I rate this as one of my great finds for my grandson! He loves everything, except when he knows it is time for bed!We are still loving this clock! He is 4 now and we still love this clock!

Perfect clock and great customer service
We have been using this clock for 7 months now. This is the perfect clock for my 2 year old. Her older brothers get up early and we needed a way to teach her to stay in bed until it is her wake up time. I did a lot of research and knew exactly what features I wanted. This is perfect for everything on my list. I love that we can set the sleep time and the clock goes to sleep and turns red. You can adjust the level of brightness as well. The clock stays asleep until wake up time when it wakes up and turns green. I love that we can turn off the alarm sound. That way she can sleep in and not be woken up. The clock stays green for 2 hours, so if she sleeps in it will still be green for her. My daughter loves her "kitty" clock and it has held up well to her love, even though we tell her to leave it on the dresser. The lock feature is great so she can't change the settings and the backup battery saves your settings. This has been a lifesaver many times when she unplugs the clock to hold it.The power cord did break. Since it was still under warranty, I contacted customer service. They were very responsive and sent me a new cord. Unfortunately, this cord did not work, so they sent me a brand new clock. They really wanted to make me, the customer, happy and did a great job. I highly recommend this clock. I would definitely purchase it again.

Great little clock, but not very intuitive
We bought this for my almost-5-year-old for Christmas, as she has a bad habit of getting up to wander the house at 5am or wake up her younger siblings. So far, it's been pretty helpful- and the sleep sound and light setting helps her know when bedtime is running late, too- she doesn't want to miss her "buddy song" as she calls it.Now, the controls for setting everything up aren't very intuitive, but easy enough once you read the instructions and fiddle with it a bit. I actually appreciate that, as it means my kids aren't likely to mess around with things on their own and go changing settings on me!So far we've mostly used the sleep, wake, and alarm features, with just one try of the nap setting. It seems there's no audible alarm for the nap- just a light, and while it might be nice to have the nap alarm some days (like when we need to leave the house after nap), the light does the job of making sure she knows if she wakes up early, she needs to stay in her room quietly until naptime is over so little brother doesn't get woken up too early. The sleep lights and sound can be adjusted independently, so if you want the sound to stop before the lights or vis-versa, you can do that, or if you want only one or the other, you can do that, too. The wake light can be set separately from the alarm, too- which is nice if you have a time you're ok with them being up, and a different time you NEED them up. My daughter loves the independence of having her own alarm clock- it reminds her to get ready for the day without me needing to, and she feels so big doing that for herself.Altogether, a solid buy- and I'll be getting another for my son when he's older, too.

Super intuitif
