no-nonsense product
This unit replaces a ~35 year old 4 station irrigation timer made by Hardie that I inherited 25 years ago, but it finally died at the end of last year's season. This new unit has many more useful features & is much easier to use. I discovered by accident that it actively monitors the power it is delivering to a valve, and will switch all stations off within a few tens of seconds if there is an overcurrent event, like two valves being connected in parallel by a wiring error. Recovery from this fault is by rotating the selector switch to "off" then back to "auto" AFTER the wiring error is fixed. Excellent feature! I own other Orbit brand products, and like them all.

good quality unit
I had an older ne of these at our newer house and the system was failing. I bought a new one and installed into the system. I had several issues with the sprinkler system and was abe to solve the other problems. Now the system operates perfectly.
