This thing is amazing! After using an index trigger release for target shooting and deer hunting for the past 23 years, I had developed occasional target panic that was becoming more frequent and more severe. Freezing off target and punching the trigger like crazy. Killed plenty of deer close range, but my consistency was poor, and target practice was becoming less enjoyable. I purchased this release, and, after some getting used to and some minor adjustments, I was shocked at how quickly consistent accuracy came. Don't get me wrong... if you do not use it correctly, you can still punch it. But I found an awesome YouTube video called "LEARN ARCHERY: The Process- How to Learn How to Shoot with Back Tension," and it described how to shoot a thumb release using back tension, combined with a simultaneous pivot of the release hand. BOOM! My pin now hovers over the target, and the trigger breaks crisply for an amazing, surprise release. I'm sure that there are other releases out there that would be impressive using this technique, but, for half the price of many of them, the simplicity and effectiveness of this release make it one of the best archery purchases I've ever made. Seriously worth the money!

Probably the best value in releases out there. Better or as good as most 250-300 dollar releases. I own 3 of the 4 Whipper Snappers and all function smoothly and without issue. Beginners should stick with the closed jaw versions for the added support and ease, but my favorite is the 3 finger open - just perfect.

This is an awesome release. I was skeptical based on the way it looked. But I bought this item and a similar release double the price of this spot hog! And I will be returning the higher one. I love this thing. It’s comfortable and accurate !

I thought I would never move away from the trufire fang 4 release. But this one is giving it a run for its money. Love the zero travel of the trigger. Bit of a soft break, and would give 5 stars if it was a bit crisper.

This release is great. Totally eliminated my target panic. Release is adjustable and smooth through the shot and a great value.

Best budget thumb release on the market you can adjust to have a hair trigger or longer travel only thing I would recommend is to put lock tight on the set screw as it might start to walk out after a year of owning and abuse. Other than that I’ve used and abused mine and it’s worked perfect

This is my first thumb release so I have nothing to compare it to. I've started making the transition over from a wrist rocket. I was punching the trigger bad. I still find myself punching it but overall it is easier for me to focus on pulling and a very slow squeeze so that it is a surprise. The release is quality made and should last a very long time. I'm very happy with the purchase.

best release i have used to date. was pretty good with a normal wrist strap release, started noticing my urge to punch the trigger. this release cured that instantly and i was shooting perfect groups everytime. great product, great adjustability, sturdy, and everything else you could say.

I purchased this for use with my compound bow as I was keen on trying out a budget friendly 4 finger release aid. I was keen on the 4 finger release aid to spread the draw load as I had only used 3 finger release aids in the past. This release aid is much better than I expected, it feels great in my hand and performs better than a competitors product that I had been using at the same price point. The Spott Hogg is able to be adjusted for tension/sensitivity and travel allowing for a crisp feeling when shooting. The feedback is phenomenal; I highly recommend this release aid to anyone looking for one at this price point.

It’s a nice release but the button is too much of a reach with my thumb to be comfortable, it creates too much movement to be consistent so be aware if your hands are medium to small
