4 year old loved it! Instruction format is good and the shark was a favorite of his that he plays with months later. They love imaginative play at this point so having a treasure box along with the submarine, diver, and shark helps to bring out a lot of play story options.

Lego nerd here. I bought this set for my 5 year old nephew who has recently become obsessed with sharks and Lego (no wonder he's my nephew). He was ecstatic when he got the set and has been playing with it nonstop since the two of us put it together. Here is what I've seen him like and dislike.Pro:He is in love with the new shark piece and the submarine drive figure. The shark is very cute and natural looking while at the same time fitting well into Lego's universe. It's study and the mouth opens and closes with a very satisfying snap that I've been hearing for hours non-stop. He also likes the shiny jewel pieces in the treasure chest and is having fun using the submarine to pick up the chest itself. He's really enjoying the submarine itself.Cons:The only cons I've seen is that because the submarine is made primarily using a very big yellow body piece, it limits his ability to make his own contraption unless he has other pieces. He doesn't seem upset about this though and was ecstatic when I bought this gift for him. Therefore, we'd both highly recommend this set.I'm a recent college grad. As with all Legos, what you see is what you get, and Legos are generally great. The shark has a posable jaw, and my son loves to use it outside of Lego play.We've since purchased a couple of these for kid birthday parties because they're cheap, but it doesn't feel like you're sending your kid with the lame present to a party.

My son loved it, it was simple for him to follow the directions and assemble at age 5, great value and product.

My 4 year old grandson was able to put this together with very few prompts. Actually once we open the package and he found the “SHARK” who tried to eat the “TREASURE’ he was so enthralled he forgot about the diving sub for awhile. Great gift!!

Grandchild loves this very entertaining

I love this set. It's cute and my 3 year old learned to put the sub together all on his own and then had a blast showing me he could! Great learner set. Like Legos with training wheels without being for "babies" good Legos for the wanna be big boy Lego builder.

Bought this for my grandson for Christmas. Love it.
