Great non-fiction book. My 9 year old daughter read and re-read it multiple times. She loves the bright pictures and reading interesting facts about other cultures.

This book had beautiful illustrations that really show the essence of Chinese New Year and make you want to celebrate it. The text was informative and well done.

Bought for our daughter we adopted from china 5 years ago. Colorful, descriptive and fun for kids!

I like this book but wish to have more updated information. But, it is still good book for ABC kids to learn about their culture and tradition. It come with games and information that my suitable for american born children. Because those fortune cookies only created and popular in US because of Chinatown restaurant created that as a sweet treats. I am born and raised in HK and I never have one or see one until coming to US. So, it is not traditional to Chinese culture but it is at US Chinatown only. So it is a book for american born Chinese (ABC). :)

Pictures are amazing! Great information!

There is very little information in the book. It just tell your there is a festival called Chinese New year, and people eat dumping at that day, that's it. 8 years old kid used 5 minutes read the whole book, and learned nothing.The pictures are very dated, and the art level of pictures is not even close to a normal National Geographic level.

Reads like you expect. Very surface level but that's the way with these types of books. Good as part of a collection to try and round things out. Great color photos.
