WD402 Strop Abrasive Powder, 1oz, White

I have used many, many different stropping compounds trying to find something that does a good job, is easy to use and doesn't glaze over my strop. This aluminum oxide powder is the easiest, fastest and does a better job that anything else I have used. Applied with a flux brush to the rough side leather of my strop gives a super sharp edge on my wood carving knives quickly and doesn't glaze over the strop. The black that appears shows it works well. Needless to say, I have a good supply of "Wood Is Good" Strop Abrasive Powder.

I use this to clean my wood burning tip with a leather strop. Works great. Does take a little elbow grease due to the fine grit.

Does what it should. Gives my carving knives a bright/sharp edge.

The white powder is great for honing an edge or finishing off a new blade. I've used jewelers rouge in the past and wasn't too sure about the Strop powder. I use a straight edge to shave and didn't know that the strop wasn't treated. So needless-to-say after a while the blade was like a butter knife. I purchased the powder and am now able to shave with it again. I've also used it to edge some fine blades for precision crafts and even blades I use to throw and in hide tanning. Simply put I like it and it isn't expensive. A little powder has gone a long way. I wish it wasn't made with aluminium, but overall I think it is a good product especially for the price.

I bought this in hopes it would be an EASY way to clean my wire tips for my woodburner. It does clean with a lot of effort. This small bottle will last me along time. I recommend it but just remember elbow grease is involved.
