I like it
Tl;dr: I think this is a great case for the money. It's well made, comfortable to hold, and comes in an assortment of good colors. I definitely recommend it.I got this a month or so ago and have enjoyed it so far. The button covers on the side are shiny silver-colored plastic and poke out a bit far from the rest of the case - some people will like this, some people won't. I like them, myself - I'm very neutral on the silver but I like the way they feel and how solidly they click. My last few pixel 4a cases have been caseology pallax, which I also liked, but there are only two fun colors. There were several good color options for this case, my favorite being "blush" (which is really more of a warm coral). The picture on Amazon and the irl case look about the same, so the color wasn't misconstrued, in that sense, but blush isn't the name for this color.I haven't had any big drops with this case but my phone has definitely fallen off the kitchen table onto the vinyl floor, off my desk onto the industrial carpet, from my pocket to the grassy ground, and the like. So far, it has clattered instead of shattered and I'm well pleased. The front has a bit of a lip to protect the screen ans the material is very comfortable. The back/sides is lightly textured and the darker smooth part is... Smooth. Nicely so.The review page prompts me to rate the "fingerprint reader" so I assume it means the cut out for the reader, which is perfectly sized. There's a bit of phone back visible around the sensor but that's how it has to be to make the hole an appropriate size to touch your finger to the sensor. I've had no issues accessing the fingerprint reader. (no issues with the reader itself, either, but that's a phone review)It has gotten a bit dirty right in the lip around the screen and back corners but whatcha gonna do 🤷🏼 In my experience, cases never stay clean and I don't really care. Maybe it'll come clean with a lysol wipe or a magic eraser - and maybe it won't. I care much more about having a fun color than not showing dirt; if I wanted it to stay clean, I'd have gotten black from the get go.

Fits well, can hold securely with small hands, not too big
The good things:-Looks: The case looks nice, and I am a fan of the "two tone" look. Note that the green color is not exactly as shown in the pics in the Amazon listing. It's not really a dark forest green. It's somewhat more "washed out" looking, and more towards a dark olive green or army fatigue green, to my eyes. The color is OK, though, and a nice change of pace from all the black cases. The only branding or printing on the case is a fairly subtle "CRAVE" text logo on the rear back. So it doesn't have "in your face" branding or strange text labels and notes like some other cases.- Fit and size: It fits the phone nicely, and everything lines up well. The case is not too thick, even for my small hands, although of course it's thicker than some of the "ultra thin" cases that probably wouldn't provide much protection. It has a proper small cutout in the top rim so it doesn't block the top speaker. It also holds the phone securely with a relatively tight fit.- Grip and feel: It definitely helps to hold the phone more securely and feels good in the hand. I have small hands, and have already stopped using two (and returned one) other cases that were too slippery, and that made my hand cramp because I felt like I had to hold the phone super tight to keep from dropping it. That isn't a problem with this case. The texture on it, along with the shape and curves around the edges, make it much more "grippy" than some others and easier to hold without straining my hand. The texture does not feel bad or irritating to the hand, though. There aren't any sharp edges that can rub against and irritate the skin when holding the phone, either. Also, when testing by putting on a tilted surface, I can tilt it to a much greater angle before it starts to slowly slide, as compared to the phone without a case, two other cases I tried, and my old phone and the case on it.Although I wasn't crazy about the tall buttons initially (see below), I'm finding that they do actually help me hold on to the phone better. If I'm holding the phone upright in my hand, with a very, very loose grip such that the phone does start to slowly slide out of my hand a bit, the taller buttons actually "catch" on my finger(s) to keep the phone from completely falling out of my hand.- Fingerprint sensor: The area around and below the fingerprint sensor has a sloped cutout below the sensor, making it easy to use the "swipe for notifications" feature for example. Someone else said that they had trouble swiping on the fingerprint sensor in this case, but I don't understand that at all. Many other cases do not have sloped area below the sensor, making it harder to do the swipe gesture on it.- Protection and sturdiness: I haven't dropped my phone yet, but it looks like it should be pretty sturdy and protective, since it has both the softer inner layer and the harder thin outer layer. I noticed there are some recessed "air gap" areas in the corners inside which might help protect from dropping on a corner. The raised lip on the front, and the raised lip around the camera on back, seem like they are an appropriate height, with the lip around the camera on back being taller. (The phone will sit flat on a table without rocking.) There are recessed channels on the inside back of the case, presumably to help with heat transfer and help keep the phone from getting too hot inside the case. The "so so" or "not great" things:- Buttons: As others have mentioned, the buttons are kind of tall. I'm also not generally a fan of the "plated plastic to look like chrome" look on any products. However, I'm finding that the taller buttons might help me hold on to the phone better if I'm holding it very loosely, as mentioned above. It would probably be possible to sand down the buttons a bit shorter and paint them black if you wanted. (It is possible to remove the phone from the case, and pop out the case buttons if you wanted to try that, then pop the buttons back in.)The buttons do feel pretty good to press, and retain a "clicky" feel, though. I did find that, after a few days usage, the volume button got just a little bit wobbly, but it doesn't interfere with operation or feel bad. I just noticed that I can jiggle the button from side to side a tiny bit now.- Headphone plug cutout: As others have mentioned, the cutout for the headphone plug could be a little bit bigger. I have numerous sets of phones and 1/4" to 1/8" headphone adapters, and so far I've only found one that wouldn't fit, though. So it's not a huge problem. The cutout in the case is around 6.5-6.6mm (slightly over 1/4"), so you might want to that on your headphone or headset plug. I think it would be pretty easy to open up the hold in the case some if necessary, though.- Removing and putting phone in case: Since the case is a fairly tight fit on the phone (which is good), that means it's not super easy to get the phone out of the case if you need to swap SIM cards, for example. It's not a real problem, though, especially if you push on the fingerprint sensor a bit while pulling back on the sides or a corner of the case.Note, when putting the phone in the case, you should press a bit on the front of the phone to "snap" it into the case, otherwise it can sort of look like it's completely in but not be completely seated in the case.In general, for me the fact of the case holding the phone securely and not being a loose fit is more important than making it easier to get the phone in and out of the case.- Case two pieces can separate?: While taking the phone out of the case, I noticed that the "softer TPU" and the "harder plastic" parts of the case are actually two pieces that look like they could be pulled apart, as one corner of the harder plastic started to lift away some when I pulled the phone out. It was easy to snap back down that part of the case, though, and it hasn't loosed up or come apart during normal usage. This probably isn't a problem, but over time I don't know if these two pieces might start to separate and not hold together so tightly as they do initially, especially if you end up taking the phone in and out of the case often. So it might be good to check occasionally that the outer hard plastic isn't starting to pop off from the inner softer TPU which, in a worst case scenario, could lead to the phone and softer part of the case falling to the ground, with the harder plastic piece still in your hand. I don't really think this is likely to happen, though. The bottom line:I'm definitely keeping this case, primarily because I can hold on to the phone easily with my small hands, it's not too huge, and it looks pretty good and fits great.
