The produce arrived in time, is well-made and attractive. However, the ad left me with the impression, somehow, the picture-taking of the device was automatic. But, the device owner must work it as you would a camera, meaning no pics of visitors while you were away. I found the battery cover very difficult to slide off, took several attempts, succeeding finally by using a nail-file as a lever.If you're looking for a peephole that produces a smart-phone size view of who's outside your door, instead of a direct view via the peephole, than this is for you. It does allow still photos, taken manually.

Unfortunately, I was somewhat duped by the product description and reviews. If you are considering purchasing this, you probably should understand a few things. First, there is a wire -- regardless of what the product description says. One reviewer said that it was as simple as setting up a network connection. Another reviewer said that you could view your doorway when you are not even there. Another said you could view your porch from virtually anywhere.All of this is blatantly false.It is a basic, wired, direct-connect peephole camera. You simply drill a hole, mount the camera on the outside and the viewing unit goes on the inside. You need to get up and walk to the door in order to see the person. Works great. Button is loud. Those on outside of door will hear you press the camera button. If you don't want somebody to know you are home you can't press the button and see who is there.

Is there a "0 stars"? As long as the product description says "wireless", this is an intentionally misleading product. Here's a clue: take it with me = wireless; attached to the door = NOT wireless.
