To make the wrecking ball lower you need to turn the black dial on the crane.

Do all of the parts fit in the case when packed away, or only the sand?

It all fits inside plus room for more sand!

How long can we use the sand after I open the box?

I put the sand into a zip lock bag after opening. It’s been almost a year and it’s still fresh. Kids love it. Hope this helped
