Der Mann auf der Hallig (Die Inselkommissarin 4) (German Edition)

I read this to improve my German and it has worked. Vocabulary and sentence construction is mostly straightforward enough for the intermediate learner (with dictionary to hand). I have only read this one book in the series, but the story was self-contained with explanations of events in the previous three books where is was relevant to this story. The plot itself was quite interesting and developed well, and was not all completely resolved until the last five pages. There were no really clever twists or wow factors, but it was an enjoyable read and I learnt quite a bit about the North Frisian islands.

This is the third book in the series that I am in the middle of reading. It helps me maintain my ability to speak modern German while being well entertained by the author
