very informative.
It was very well written and contained informationI did not know before. A great read for both Gable andLeigh fans.

Gable once said, "Hell, if I'd jumped on all the dames I'm supposed to have jumped on, I'd have had no time to go fishing."
Entertaining book of how two individuals whose backgrounds were so disimilar came together to create one of the greatest films of all times. On one hand you had Clark Gable, whom sorely struggled to learn the trade and comes across as marrying/divorcing the right people to eventually become the great actor he was, whereas Vivian Leigh was more or less born of a privileged class and was spoon fed her way to success. I enjoyed several humorous moments in the book including one attributed to Gable being called a "dandy" as he was meticulously well-groomed and his suits and jackets "were all arranged in his wardrobes by color and size and tagged with the purchase date" and how Leigh didn't do all that well in her early roles "to the extent that her high-pitched voice and failure to properly memorize her lines once drove the girl producing a play to hit her on the head with a candlestick." A short, informative book of both their lives/careers and impact on "The Wind" complete with several photos that I did enjoy!

If ever you were curious about Clark or Vivien, ...
If ever you were curious about Clark or Vivien, this is the book for you!!! Lots of background information.

A short synopsis of Clark's and Vivien's lives with little connection between them.
Interesting but disappointing in that there was no discussion of their interactions or relationship during the filming of Gone With the Wind. Just separate histories of each.

Two Stars
More of a pamphlet than a book - readable but more of a mash-up of well known facts.

Very touching
I enjoyed this book very much, however, I have always loved both Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh. There is no better movie then GWTW.

very interesting overview
Rhett and Scarlett: The Lives and Legacies of Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh is written by Charles Rivers Editors. It seems to be the perfect time to produce this book as the film, Gone With The Wind, is making a renewal at the movie theatres. Once more we can see Rhett Butler and Scarlet O’Hara on the big screen. Of course, the characters are simply Clark Gable and Vivien Leith playing their hearts out. We can no longer separate the actors and the characters as no one else could play them as well. This book tells of their lives and other films; but the two are simply synonymous with the characters that it seems we know what they were. The book very simply tells of their lives from their beginning to the end. It gives enough to be very interesting and yet not enough to tell it all. It gives us enough to make us want to go to the other books in the bibliography and read more about them.
