Hannah Howell writes great books and this one is one of the best!
Excellent book! I’ve read some bad reviews, do not believe them. This is classic Hannah Howell. Loved it all! I only read Hannah Howell books now because they give me everything I need in a book, especially the way she connects the Murreys, the Wherelocks, the McNachtons and now her new series with the MacEnroys set in America during the civil war period. They are all amazing!

Wild Roses
When Harrigan Mahoney was hired to retrieve Ella Carson from Wyoming and bring her back to her family in Philadelphia, he was warned that she would not go willingly. He had no idea what he was getting himself into. Ella tries in vain to convince Harrigan that her family wants her dead. Her pleading falls on deaf ears repeatedly and she tries again and again in vain to escape and run back to her Aunt Louise. Louise is determined to save Ella and bring her back. As they travel, Harrigan and Ella discover a passion like no other but Harrigan has to claim the reward for Ella's return to save his family. When Harrigan realizes that Ella was telling the truth, it may too late. He may lose the woman who has stolen his heart.Wild Roses is a previous published novel by Hannah Howell. Harrigan and Ella take a passionate journey, both literally and figuratively in Wild Roses. Harrigan eventually faces a tough choice-turn Ella over, or keep her for himself. Unfortunately, his choice has already been made for him. Ella decides to enjoy the time she has with Harrigan knowing she must let him go. Their beginning is tumultuous and their ending is an angst-filled romance. Louise's constant attempts to get Ella back are as amusing as they are courageous. Wild Roses is a sensual romance filled with laughs and colorful characters.NannetteReviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Wonderful
This was a little different by Ms. Howell. I mostly have been buying her Scottish Highland books, but this was very interesting and enjoyable.

Absolutely awful
I am a big fan of Hannah Howell's, but this book is just terrible. I find books where the romance is love at first sight unsatisfying at best and completely out of the realm of possibility at worst. This book is the latter. I couldn't even finish this book for a long time it was so bad I stopped reading it and only finished it one day when I had nothing else to read. Just terrible.

Wild Rose
Good book but some long dry spells with to much non exciting places like she was struggling to get all her characters together and still not drag it out into being boring

Wild Roses
Not quite as captivating as a highlander in a kilt, but Hannah Howell does a pretty good job on the old west.

Pretty much the worst set-up for a romance I have ever read.
Absolutely awful. I like that the author tried to write an original romance plot, and she actually succeeded: the hero kidnaps the heroine to take her back to the relatives who want to kill her for her money. She keeps telling him this and though he falls in love with her and they have repeated sex, he still turns her over to the murderous relatives. Yup, doesn't work at all, does it? Add to that her aunt who keeps trying to rescue her with a posse of young men, but not actually doing anything, and the fact that the heroine is cool with the hero planning to turn her over to be killed because she's in love with him and having great sex...The sad thing is that this plot would have been fixed by the hero and heroine colluding to fool the relatives and the reader and then flipping the tables on us. If the author could have pulled that off, it would have been really cute. But she didn't.And it's boring too. Avoid.
