I really appreciate being able to transfer data without having to use an external enclosure at double the price. It worked well transferring data from my old hybrid drive to an SSD on my Dell Studio XPS 1645 laptop. It plugged into the USB/eSATA port easily and the drives were recognized correctly when booting up. Do not plug into or remove from the port while the laptop or PC is running to avoid damaging the hdd, sshd or ssd. I intend to use this with other drives for temporary/external use.

I've got an old dell first gen i7 laptop. Great screen, great keyboard, built like a tank. Plenty fast. But only USB 2.0. It has one of those combo usb/sata ports, that I've never used. HOLY SH**. What a difference. Great for hooking up external storage such as an SSD or 2.5" HDD. It will not power a 3.5" HDD, those need more voltage. My old DELL can now move data externally at 275MB/s!!!! My old USB 2.0 ports are good for about 30MB/s. Almost 10x improvement. WOOOOOT

eSATA Cables to SATA DRIVES are good, but its after the facts no fault of the seller the cable don't work for TIVOS.I am keeping the Cable, I can use it for other hardware.

As long as you have the correct port, these will work beautifully. Powers a full size 5.25in disc drive even under heavy load. Also works with 3.5in drives. They DO NOT plug into regular eSATA ports. You need an eSATAp port for this to work. Overall I’m very happy I found this product and would buy again.

This item did not work for me because I failed to heed the warning that stated that the connection from which this item is going to be connected must provide the power. I didn't understand that until I received it and it did not work, and then I did further research on it. At the same, I can’t find one like this that does have an external power source.

It worked for external full size hard drives on my laptop

This is an excellent "tool" for dealing with hard drives that are loose/not connected. Quick and easy to plug into a loose drive and then plug into my laptop's eSata port.

Sturdy cable allows for quick and stable file transfers, helped me back up all my data with ease.

Enfin une utilité à ce port eSATA+USB2.0 qui ne me servait que pour l'USB ! n'ayant pas d'USB 3.0 sur mon PC portable, j'ai enfin une interface rapide pour les transferts/clonages avec des disques SATA ! testé uniquement avec des disques 2.5" (pas testé avec les 3.5") Câble de bonne facture, les deux connecteurs s'enfichent bien, avec fermeté et sans jeux particulier. très bon rapport qualité/prix ! Bref, très content de mon achat.

I connettori ben curati nei dettagli e ben stabili dopo l'inserimento (la doppia porta eSATA/USB del laptop è tornata ad essere molto stabile) ed il fatto che il cavo non si pieghi con facilità hanno confermato la sensazione di robustezza notata anche all'arrivo in una semplice busta semi-trasparente (l'altro lato è opaco). La lunghezza è giusta sia per l'uso con un laptop o un desktop con un SSD che poi per me diventerà interno. Magari forse un po' corto per una configurazione tower, ma non avendola e neanche un eventuale box esterno a me va bene così :-D . In ogni caso la presenza nominale dell'alimentazione a 12V (dubito che troverò mai il tempo di controllarne la presenza con un tester) lo ha reso molto versatile anche per un possibile uso con altre configurazioni desktop o tower con disco più grande fino a 3.5" o inserito in un box esterno.

Es bastante comodo no necesita alimentación extra y en general puede resultarte muy útil si necesitas trabajar con muchos discos duros.
