This truly is a nice little anvil. You're never going to earn your living with it, but thats not why you buy it.It has plenty of heft for it's size which makes it very usable. For the hobbyist and anyone that just needs to bend some metal once in a while it's ideal. It does ring like a bell, but if you put a magnet underneath the angular horn it will dampen the harmonics ( I kid you not ) and turns a clang into a thud. All in all money well spent. Oh, and it comes in a cardboard (laugh) box. Seriously, 30kg of steel with two pointy bits, in a cardboard box.

It's a good size for a novice like me as I can easily lift it out of the way when it's not in use. The rebound is pretty good and it has a high pitched ring which has been dulled down with silicone and a chain. But overall I am pleased with it. The only downside is the pritchel hole on the horn of the anvil I would have preferred this to be at the other end as the drop between the hole and the base I have mounted it on is quite short. Otherwise it is a good sturdy piece of kit for a beginner like me. I got all the mounting info from 'christ centred ironworks' on you tube as he ran a series of vids on these anvils.

Firstly this is not a forged anvil it is a casting.So the description is misleading. The pritchel and hardy holes are as-cast and need cleaning out before they can be used.That being said, this is still a good anvil, the hardness and toughness are spot on with a nice bounce and it can take a serious pounding during hot forging without real damage.

Anvil is very good with the exception of the Hardy hole. I also purchased the hardy bender that was recommended with the anvil and it does not fit, it is about one eighth to big for the hardy hole in the anvil I will have to grind it down to fit.

Great anvil just a little bit on the soft side though making it easily marked.It will do the job though.

Great little anvil. Ideal for beginner. Still strong and heavy. Perfect for back of van work or workshop.

Great value for money! Harden steel not like any of those cast iron ones you see around

Needs some dressing and the hardie hole needed cleaning but great value for money with a little work
