Great product! I use this literally everyday! It has decreased the mold in my room and my clothes don't feel moist due to the high humidity. I live in a converted garage and the moisture gets trapped easily. I spent a lot of money on disposable moisture beads and Damprid products. The products didn't seem to help the moisture in my room at all. I even bought the RV recommended one in hopes of it doing a better job, nope. My clothes seemed to be damp after a day or 2 in my closet. This little Gurin machine literally collects a tray of water a day if used continuously for my room personally. Unlike damprid, the crystals got moist but I felt no difference in the air. The Gurin is definitely a life changer, it isn't too loud, sounds like a laptop hum...hopefully that makes sense. My clothing and air feel dryer now, I don't wake up feeling as though I am suffocating. This does a great job for my bedroom and bathroom. I recommend this to anyone. Not sure how bad it is on the electricity bill because I got it but it is worth it either way.

Works well in my small space and helps control the the humidity to prevent mold in my space. Very easy to use and the water reservoir is very simple to empty when it is full. It does shut off as intended when the water collection chamber is full making for worry free operation . Very convenient very well lit indicator lights for when it is on and when it needs to be emptied. Very quiet operation with no noise that i can notice. It seems to throw off very little to no heat when it is operating. Very sleek and compact and does what it is intended to do. Very nice plug and walk away operation right out of the box.

My bathroom door (wood) wouldn't shut all the way because it gets swollen during most humid/rainy days. And for a NYC apartment we can't really fit one of those big fancy dehumidifiers. This little guy WORKS WONDERS!! I initially left it on my bathroom overnight, and within a day or two of having this Gurin dehumidifier, my bathroom door finally shut all the way! Now I have it all over the apartment, especially on those rooms that are carpeted. I love it! Size is perfect! You can barely hear it when it's on. It shuts itself off automatically when the little tank is full. Having it in the bathroom, the tank would fill up within 2 days or so. I will definitely be ordering another one for other spaces in the home. 100% worth it!!

Bought this for my safe in the garage. Still using the desiccant beads but they can be a pain to refresh them almost weekly now in the hot summer. So I put this little unit in the safe with them, at the bottom, and after a week it extracted almost 8 oz of water. The safe's humidity level is pretty consistently at 43-45 percent which is a bit higher that the beads right after a recharge, but acceptable. So far very pleased at the results.I did review many of them on Amazon but decided that the cheapest one was what I was going to try. If it didn't work then only out a few bucks. It works. Also, temps in the safe are at a steady 81 F. As good or better than those golden rods I read about. Use about the same amt of electricity too.UPDATE: After three weeks the unit died. Dropping the stars to 1. (Don't expect and stars for a non working unit, right?) Kudo's to Amazon for quickly shipping me a replacement. If this unit lasts as expected and not die in a few weeks I'll chalk it up to one defective unit. and change the star rating again. If the second one fails it gets replaced with another brand.Update2; After 7 months the replacement unit is still working. The sleeve bearing is a bit noisy at startup but it eventually quiets down. Raising the stars to 4.Update 3: Finally died. Can't complain. Did what I expected and knew it wouldn't last forever.

This small dehumidifier is a workhorse - for as long as it works. Unfortunately, the 9V 2.5 AC power adapter has failed on each unit after two years. I own four because at first I replaced the entire unit only to find that the only problem was the adapter and the unit still worked great. Another unfortunate piece of the puzzle is the inability to purchase the adapter separately from Gurin. Numerous voice messages left with the company remain unanswered. The response from Customer Service to my emails is that the unit has been discontinued and the AC Adapter cannot be purchased separately, BUT, I can use the AC Adapter from their newer model on the discontinued model that I own. This is a rip off and very unfair to a loyal customer. It wouldn't be so inconvenient or expensive (continually purchasing new units only because the power adapter fails) if I were able to locate a 9V 2.5 AC adapter online with the two open holes needed to work with the Gurin Mini Dehumidifier. The only one's I've been able to find do not have this feature. I'm ordering a ProBreeze Mini Dehumidifier with over 11,000 4.5 reviews instead of another Gurin. I wrote this review to let others know that I've had the same problem with four units over the past four years.

Unit appears well made. Take it out of the box and plug it in. I use it in a small bathroom and it works great. The clear water container allows you to see how much water it collects. I’m amazed to see how well this small unit works. It’s fairly quiet too. One button simple operation and the water tank pulls out the front for easy emptying. If I did it over again I would buy the Home version of this unit instead of the Gurin simply for looks as the “Home” is written on the bottom of their unit rather than the “Gurin” printed large at the top of this one.
