This throttle control is the only one sold that doesn't use a flimsy plastic housing for control lever.

This did the job. I really needed one 2 inches longer but nobody makes them. It would have been nice it this was a coated cable but it works.

At least for my application with a Harbor Freight Predator 173cc lawn mower engine, this was set up backwards. Idle on the lever would have been full throttle on the engine, and full throttle on the lever would be idle on the engine. I assume many other engines would have the same issue.Luckily, there is a provision to flip the cable around so the throttle position is actually correct. This means the cable exits the back side of the lever though, pointing the wrong way (going away from the engine). It is kind of awkward to route the cable like this, but it was long enough to work this way.I just wanted the cheapest decent throttle control I could find, and I guess this does the job. It works perfectly aside from the awkward cable routing.

I relocated the engine on a project I was working on and the extra length of cable versus stock cable allowed for choke to work as intended.

I thought I'd give this a try for my old Bolens garden tractor I expected I'd have to drill holes for it to fit, but did not realize it works differently from the old one, in that the UP position pushes the wire OUT, and my old one was the opposite. It is possible to change the direction of the cable to change this, but that meant I had to find a new route for the cable, since it went the wrong way. Luckily the cable is 4" longer than I needed and I was able to reroute it. It's worth a try if you can't find an exact replacement. It worked for me and I was able to use the old knob so it works and looks the same as my old one.
