This book is too dry and wordy
OK, here’s the thing: I think these dudes write books only for teachers and students. If you are an experienced professional, any books written by these guys ARE NOT FOR US. I bought the GLOBAL third Edition with the idea that I was on my way to learning about cyber security and I found this book to be extremely wordy and dry (sometimes to the point of confusion – the author attempts to write about everything, sometimes into too much detail and then jumping unto a different topic). The other thing that I find disturbing is the fact that the book is not complete. He has a thing called PREMIUM CONTENT, which is only available via the Internet with an “access card” at the front of the book. However, THERE IS NO SUCH ‘ACCESS CARD’ AT THE FRONT OF THE BOOK. Not to surrender to the whims of these PHDs, I went to the so called companion web site, and clicked on the THIRD EDITION, and, guess what – YOU HAVE TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL $25.00 because YOU MUST HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH PEARSON. This approach of saving money for the buyer is like buying an automobile at a low price in East coast and then having to go the West coast for the engine, but the buyer just saved a lot of money on his purchase. Take it from a reader who has been buying books since the mainframe, then UNIX, and then Windows, and databases, web development, etc. etc. etc. This book is not intended for professionals, just teachers and students.
